Episode 40: "
Frieza's Final Transformation! The Ultimate Nightmare Begins!"
Here's a quick off-screen capture of the opening:

And here's a short clip from episode 40 featuring Freeza's famous line, performed admirably by Chris Ayres:

Okay, seriously man. Have you ever heard of Google? Over and over, in almost every thread...

It's Greg singing on Part 4. Someone asked Chris Ayres on his Facebook, and he confirmed it.

I don't quite understand what the point of all the different singers are, I guess to get people talking about each new set, therefore free publicity... But I think they should have just used Vic Mangana's version across the board.

So people wouldn't get sick of the song?

Are people too inept to use the 'skip' button?

Well, that too, but hey I like the idea of each volume having a different singer.

The different singers for the opening is a cool concept I guess but...I would have rather have had just one, even the Schemmel one, and then had the insert songs all properly dubbed. Now it's just all over the place.
As far as Greg's version goes, I like it actually. He hits the 'Tell a sto-ry!' bit great, and that's my favorite part of the translated song.

Whoa...that Avenge Krillin one was amazing.
Yamcha: Do you remember the spell to release him - do you know all the words?
Bulma: Of course! I'm not gonna pull a Frieza and screw it up!
Master Roshi: Bulma, I think Frieza failed because he wore too many clothes!

That trailer for Part 5 is easily the greatest trailer for anything Dragon Ball-related FUNimation has ever made. It feels like a much more professional version of the old Toonami promos. I've never been this pumped for a product I knew I wasn't going to buy before.

Just saw the "Avenge Kuririn" and "SSJ Goku" clips.
Holy fuck, Schemmel's delivery in the Kuririn clip... wow.
Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!
Fan of Dragon Ball Z and various other Anime since '98! ^^

Thanks for the clips Gozar. Holy CRAP did Schemmel ever bring his A-game to the Super Saiyan stuff...the 'Avenge' clip especially is freaking bone-chilling.

Even I'm a bit impressed with Schemmel in those clips.

He doesn't want to kill anyone, or even prove that he can win... he just wants to know he can. He's an ineffably charming bastard who's manly leanings were really incendental, and yes, the fact that he was voiced by a squeaky woman made the combination perhaps all the more charming.

Credit where credit is due. That avenge Kuririn clip had an amazing performance from Sean. Even if I don't care for the voice the acting was given 100 percent. Is it just me or does it feel he's actually into this role a lot more than in Z? Like I've never really heard him phone in his Goku here. No "Chi Chi what happened to your Chi Chi?" shananagins either.

Sean... the acting... that was you're best performance as of yet that I've seen.

Looking back on these, the only negative thing to any of the clips I linked to is that "Hope you're not afraid of heights" line. I was really hoping that was a Broadcast Only line.
I fully support and agree with FUNimation adding dialogue to that scene rather than keeping it as laughing over clearing speaking animation as the Japanese did. But I think there's much better dialogue that could have been put there. For example, the Z Dub had it right with "This time you won't come back". IMO that works far better.

Yeah, I was just about to say the same thing. I also have to say that Schemmel's Super Saiyan scream
still sends chills down my spine.

Gozar I would hate to bother you and ask you to rip a good quality version of the new "Dragon Soul"'
But I love this new version. Could you please see if you could do something? =D
