Moe Howard is Moe from "the Three Stooges". Now that I think of it, Rock Lee does have hair like him. Also with the "Zolo" thing, I heard it had something to do with Toei or somebody involved with OP doing some kind of copyright thing.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:VIZ's Naruto translator tries to be really cute, and it annoys the hell out of me. Rock Lee is the one with "the Moe Howard haircut"? I don't even know what the hell that means!

"Awaaaaraaaoooh....Waraaaaoooooh!!!"

"Yeah...what he said"
But seriously folks, I think these days us fans take "translations" a lil too much for granted, even kinda overating them I think. All of Viz's titles really arent so much english translations, but much more english adaptions, and that means they arent going to be fully translated word for word.
I always noticed thats how Viz worked, even in the old days, trying to be more "original" in an adaption writing sense than actually doing a perfect translation, which will never happen who does all the work. Sure maybe to the purist fan, its "evil", but you get what you pay for - english adapted manga.
Although, I wish those censorship issues would be solved. I can handle the most lame, corny, outdated writing, but if the artwork aint all there...there's gonna be some problems. Tenjo Tenge anyone?

Whilst we are on the topic of censorship, I have a question. In vol.13 of the DBZ manga, Android 20 just mercilessly rips some guys head off (my scanner is broke so I can't provide visual aids here
). Does this happen in the anime?

"I'd rather die than fuse with you!"
"Um...Vegeta, you're already dead."

In both versions he grabs the guy and smashes his head through the roof of the car. And then...

Because it's freakin' disturbing! This show aired on prime time TV, it's not like they could just do whatever the hell they wanted. There were restrictions on what you could and couldn't show.I mean why take this stuff away from the anime?

Well, maybe if this kind of content was left in the anime then DragonBall Z wouldn't be labeled as a kids show all the time. It would make things a lot more interesting. Ya feel?DBW wrote:Because it's freakin' disturbing! This show aired on prime time TV, it's not like they could just do whatever the hell they wanted. But, as you said this was aired on prime time TV so omitting this sort of material does make sense.
