I liked Movie 10. It's goofy. The best part was watching it in Japanese class a few years ago, and my sensei put her hands over the TV when Trunks mooned Brolli and when Goten was taking a leak.

That surprises me, because... I think Broly, and his story are possibly the worst concievable plot of any of the movies.

You mean because it was earlier established that the Saiya-jin were all killed?

By the same logic "Tree of might" was crap also?

I'm not the one saying anything bad about the movies. I'm trying to see what lost in thought thinks was so bad about movie 8.

I liked Tree of Might. Tullece rocks. Not as much as Bardock and Vegito, but he still rocks.

No, because the movies plotline revolved around a pointless grudge, that pretty much goes unexplained, and through this we recieve a villian who not only is one dimensional in character, but personality as well. On top of that, it's direct sequel was no better, it didn't even lay any plot lines, Broly just woke up... and attacked the Z-Senshi, and that was it, and then in the last 5 minutes of the movie- Goku comes back, and then a triple Kamehameha kills Broly... it surprises me to no end, how people can like Broly's character, when there isn't much more to him than an appearance, and a grudge for Goku.

And just because you were being a smartass:

We already had the Saiyan's murder plot point explained, with the release of the tv special Bardock: The Father of Goku, which in my opinion was far more interesting in every concievable way, than Broly or his movies.

Tree of Might is a good movie.

I'm not sure why you're being so hostile, I wasn't trying to be a smartass. I was just seeing what it was you didn't like about movie 8. When I asked that question above, it was just one possibility. I guess I should have just asked to begin with.

I do agree that the Bardock special was far more interesting and a better insight into the history of the Saiya-jin though.

To anyone that has the first redub DVD already:

Does the disc contain all next episode previews?

Since Toei released the Dragonbox in Japan and FUNimation got all previews for the Dragonball GT DVDs, there's no reason why the Saiyan Saga previews shouldn't be there on the redub DVDs.

Nope not on the disc, just because Toei released DVD's with the preview audio on it does not entitle Funimation to use that audio. One would imagine they are probably bound to using the materials they were provided when they made their initial purchase, but to just rip the audio off of Toei's own release one would have to imagine would be theft.

I don't think you understood what I meant.

I see what you're saying, but I was never implying that FUNi would 'steal' the Dragonbox's next episode preview audio tracks.

What I mean is that now that the Dragonbox has been out in Japan for quite a while, I see no reason for Toei to not provide FUNi with all the audio masters for the next episode previews. After all, they did so for DBGT. Granted, DBGT is a far less profitable series, but even so, a truly "Ultimate Uncut Special Edition" should include next episode previews.

Yo, Tarsonis, LIT. The hostility, let it cease or take it outside.

To IGN's boards.

Man...the "Miss World Competition". You know there's some birds in there, why'd you think Roshi went; puff puff without the slap and the Android #15 was sippin on that sizurp. Where do you suppose he got his "medicine" from? Certainly not Jernanimo and we know for damn sure Gero didn't build him with it. He bought liquor. It's not drug dealing but I would consider distributing liquor to a minor illegal.

Werd.

Call me an idiot, but I actually like Broly. It's not just the fact that he gets totally brutal, it's because of the psychological problems he has.

He doesn't just have a grudge. He was mentally scarred. It's not HIS fault he has a one-track mind. It's Kakarotto's. Because of that irritating Saiyan legend, Broly is cursed to live the life of a demon. Had Gokuu not thrown a tantrum that day, Broly could have turned out to be a rather nice fellow...

Man, I read into these things too much, don't I?

I don't mind Broli much either. Plus his DU was one of the best. You could blow up cities!

Anyway, I was under the impression they were going to release all the Saiyan Saga eps in one big bulk. Other than that I have to say I agree with what the reviewer said with the movie.

I finally bought the dvd yesterday but I have a question about the Japanese version. Why do Goten and Trunks keep calling Videl "Sis"?

The word they're using is "nee-chan", and it's one of those things that just doesn't have a 100% proper translation in English (kinda like "sensei"). Dictionaries tend to translate it as "older sister"; she's not really their SISTER, but it's used in the same respect that we could say something like, "Hey, grandma, watch where you're going!" to an elderly lady other than your own bloodline grandmother. She's familiar enough with the boys for them to call her that, and they've got on the "-chan" honorific to be slightly more polite.

Something along those lines, anyway :D.

See, this is the most common complaint I hear, and yet, it's not even close to the truth. Ya, ok, Broly hates Goku, that's obvious. But everyone just looks it at like "Goku cried, now Broly hates him." Ummm, no. Broly was stabed and nearly killed, his planet was blown up, and he's not had the most stable of life after that. Nearly being killed's made him fairly insane, and all this bad stuff that's happened to him can be linked, rather easily, to Goku. Goku's crying is problem linked, subconciously, to all the crap he's been too.

Anyway, onto the actual topic now. Anyone know (or have an idea) how long this re-release is going to take to complete? How many box-sets are going to come out of it? And, I can't seem to remember, which episode was the last one of the second season?
