Eh, its a wired cycle. Everyone here is like thats so messed up, FUNimation is just trying to make money, These movies were already uncut why re-dub them. But...We'll probley buy them anyway.
I know I will.
It reminds me of when (on the Simpsons) they released a new Malibu Stacy doll that was exactly the same as the old ones but now she came with a hat, and all the girls went crazy for them and bought all of them.

As far as DB movie 2 goes, I do wish we could find out when they will legally be able to distribute that, and the first 13 episodes... my Trimark dvd's aren't exactly up to par with my FUNi dvds, and that's sort of irritating.DBW wrote:Yeah, when I first heard about the re-dub of the first 3 DBZ movies, it made me wonder why they wouldn't just move forward and try to release some new material instead (ie. DB movie 2).
I remember that, but you wouldn't be able to get away with a reference from anything after 1998. I would like nothing better than to line up the entire series on DVD of Dragonball, Dragonball Z all the movies, and yes, even Dragonball GT on my shelf.
Perhaps the greatest travesty is that the only entire run I have is GT. It's simply amazing that I've been watching DB for 8 years now, buying up the releases and everything, yet I'm still nowhere near completion of my set. I mean, imagine if FUNimation and other anime distrubutors simply offered season sets like every other TV on DVD release.
The way they organize their releases is like there's ten different people figuring out how to package them. Dragonball has 25-30 episodes on 2-disc releases. Dragonball Z skipped over the Cell Games and Saiyaman sagas. Dragonball GT skipped over the first 16 epsiodes. What the hell are these guys smoking?
It's just so difficult to undestand what goes on in their heads. Obviously the bottom line is profit, but it's simply retarded that FUNi thought they couldn't sell the Cell Games sagas or the first few epsiodes of GT. I'd just really like to know just what the hell they're thinking sometimes...

Well, a couple things really:
Let me assure you none of the original Dragon Ball sets as nice as they are come anywhere near your totals, 18 is if I recall correctly the top end for number of episodes on a single set. And I guess the only reason we get this sweet a deal is they are convinced for whatever reason that the original Dragon Ball just wouldn't sell well any other way.
But yeah, no real excuse in my book for jumping around so much with their release patterns.

But anime don't come in "seasons" (not in Japan anway). They simply continue airing until the show is done.I mean, imagine if FUNimation and other anime distrubutors simply offered season sets like every other TV on DVD release.
As for the dvd release pattern, does it really matter anymore? Aside from the redub, the dvd release is just about done and over with.
