I've heard this brought up on TV Tropes of all places, and I gotta say, I'm really not seeing where people are getting the idea from. For example, I can see why people consider Jazz from the Transformers films black, even though he's an alien robot. He talks and acts like we stereotypically imagine black people. Piccolo on the other hand, I really don't see what people find "black" about him. I mean, you could grasp at straws and say he's tall and scary, like a lot of black characters in movies. (Looking at Samuel L. Jackson here) Other traits, however, like his demeanor and lack of a "black" way of speaking don't contribute to it. Personally, I'm just not seeing it.

Well, it's pretty clear he's not white. I mean, he's green.

But in all seriousness, I have to ask, what necessarily makes the other characters "white?" I mean, yeah, he definitely sticks out like a sore thumb, but it's kind of hard not to when you're a 7-foot-tall green guy. I'd argue that Kuririn and Tenshinhan at the very least come off more as Asian than white, due in part because of their appearance.
