Well, I was reffering to rereboy's comment actually.

But the crucial difference between them lies not only in how they view the world, but in how the world views them.

Superman is, and always has been, a symbol for truth, justice, and upstanding moral fortitude–a role model and leader as much as a fighter. The more down-to-earth Goku has no illusions about being responsible for maintaining social order, or for setting some kind of moral example for the entire world. Goku is simply a martial artist who’s devoted his life toward perfecting his fighting skills and other abilities. Though never shy about risking his life to save either one person or the entire world, he just doesn’t believe that the balance of the world rests in any way on his shoulders, and he has no need to shape any part of it in his image. Goku is an idealist, and believes that there is some good in everyone, but he is unconcerned with the big picture of the world…unless it has to do with some kind of fight. Politics, society, law and order don’t have much bearing on his life, but he’s a man who knows right from wrong.

I wonder why we haven't seen a Namekian with one since then though... Maybe Vegeta killed him while on Namek, but years later in GT decided to go with that look
That shot is filler. Namekians don't have facial hair.
I know that Namekians don't have facial hair. I just pointed out that image since I found it funny. Another one of Toei's goofs...

Has it been stated by Toriyama himself that Namekians aren't supposed to have facial hair, or is everybody just assuming that just because there are not any Namekians with facial hair in the manga that they aren't supposed to have any?

It seems to be the latter.

Well, not only did he did draw a shit ton of them for the manga, but he's also had to sign off on every design DBO uses. They can be purple, pink, green or blue and have antennae, danglers, horn-thingies, probe-a-ma-bobs, or a penis head...but facial hair is taboo.
Direct translations of the Korean DB Online timeline and guidebook.

Body hair is a unique property of mammals, which Namekians aren't.

Well then I assume that that shot from the anime was not under the consent of Toriyama? And so what if it's filler, or Yajirobe's imagination? The image was meant to depict a diverse culture of Namekians so we know that they don't all look like clones of Piccolo.

This is an anime that features weird talking animals and stuff, not a biology textbook. I'm not saying that Namekians are supposed to have facial hair, I just don't think it should be taken as a solid fact, which is what everyone seems to be doing.

No, Yajirobe said "there are hundreds of Piccolos?" or something like that, it was just a gag.
