In that case, man oh man do I want to see movie 8Jerseymilk wrote:He's a messed up psychopath for one. And his hatred of Goku most likely can be explained by "association". Broly doesn't hate Goku ONLY because he wouldn't stop crying. Has it ever occured to you guys that there's more to it than something so literal? Let's see shall we? Brolly is a few days old and his first memories consist of being stabbed and left for dead, planet Vegeta being blown up, and watching his father's attempted murder too. All this time, the only consistent thing going on was Goku's crying. That's why he's fixated on Goku.
BGM forever! If only more people paid attention to it... well, I intend to change that.

My two cents . . .
If it's even worth that much.
Personally, I liked Movie 8; the Japanese version in particular.
Some of the DBZ movies have a long sequence of "warming up" the plot before the actual fighting breaks out (i.e., let's go do something else and "find" the fight later), and then the battle makes up less than half of the movie; others fly right into the fire against a seeking revenge/conquer the universe/just destroy everything enemy where the battle *is* the plot. Neither format is necessarily good or bad to me; I like Movie 7, but I like Movie 10 too.
But I notice about Movie 8 is that it spends about a half hour developing a backstory and explaining how it ties into the current plot, and then dedicates an equal portion to the actual let's-get-every-bone-in-our-body-broken-before-we-win climactic battle thingy . . .
I don't know anything about whether or not Broly is a good movie character in relation to (your movie character here) or whether or not the fight ranks high on the top ten list, but at least the movie itself feels balanced . . . uh, to me, anyway.
It's also fairly long for a DBZ movie . . . the longest of them all, if I'm not mistaken (and if you exclude the 10th Anniversary Special).

Actually, I think 13's the longest movie... Might be wrong, though.Li'l Lemmy wrote:It's also fairly long for a DBZ movie . . . the longest of them all, if I'm not mistaken (and if you exclude the 10th Anniversary Special).

Okay, so I miscalculated slightly about movie 8. There was no need to reiterate the length of the other movies, since I already stated they were "60 minutes or less". Though I'm not suprised that someone on here decided to be nitpicky enough to try and point it out anyway.Chibi Mystic Gohan wrote:Eh? I'm pretty sure movie 8's only 70 minutes long.
Most others are actually around 45, not 60.
To further prove my point here is the link to Mike's DVD Guide for the movies with the running times listed.

I was just referring to the "I won't because it sucks", though I guess I was a bit mean. I apologize.Mirai Trunks´s Nr. 1 fan wrote:Oh come on! It´s the only DBZ movie I haven´t seen OK!?? Sheesh! cut me some slack here!!
But seriously, you should atleast see it once. Just because a few people hate it doesn't mean you should too.

I'd say a soul cleansing machine breaking and releasing evil is far better than someone cloning Broli just so Toei can get some more loot from Broli's popularity.
At least 12 had all the fighting we love. 11 was a chasing movie. Chase, Kamehameha, chase, Kamehameha, repeat.
And what movies would you consider worse that 11? "Far from the worst"? o_0

I personally rank movie 11 in the top half of DBZ movies. I found DBZ movies 2,3, and 5 extremely bland while this one I at least thought was funny. Then again I also thought movie 4 was fun (while totally illogical), so my tastes when it comes to the movies are a bit different than most fans.
I'd rank it in the upper half of the DBZ movies overall, 2,3, and 5 just happen to be my least favorite though so I'm singling them out for this post.

Bio-Brolly?
I've heard both good and bad about Movie 11 (with the scale tipping heavily in the latter's favor), but . . . I'm still really looking forward to the DVD releases of 11, 12 and 13, and I'm pretty much dying to see 11 for Goten's sake. Certainly there are some DBZ movies I like less than others, and it's entirely possible 11 will fall into the "less" category for me, but I still have to see it before I know for sure. And even so, I generally find at least one thing I like in each film regardless.
Plus I like Chibi Goten, so there's already the one thing.
(Ka-me-ka-me-ha!)

4's one of my favorites as well. I'd have to say 8 would be at the top of the list followed by 5, 4, 3, 6, 2, 7, 9, and then 1. Haven't seen 10-13 yet.Kodoshin wrote:I personally rank movie 11 in the top half of DBZ movies. I found DBZ movies 2,3, and 5 extremely bland while this one I at least thought was funny.
