So that's why, huh, I think the boxes that have been discontinued can still be purchased via Amazon JP (eBay, Yahoo Auctions, etc).
I sure would like to own the Jpn Kai boxes but nah, I'm satisfied owning the DBZK Parts' Blu-rays (only one left!).
FUNimation 2015 Releases I want:
- Kai 2.0 on Blu-ray

There are no Japanese Blu-ray singles besides the first one, which looks to be included with that.

Right. The only single is included in this box since there is a space to fit it inside the box. The condition I would say is like new. I watched it when it first came out, before FUNimation released it here. Then it sat on my shelf.
The only real extra is the Dragon Book.

Yes, Japan and USA share the same region code.

Eh, I'm really looking to get rid of the whole thing. I don't want a box set with 4 episodes missing.

Good call.
Although, I don't think you'll need to lower the brightness, the U.S Blu-ray seems better than the Japanese version. But hey, if you like the Japanese one better, that's up to you.

Besides, you'll get subtitles and a mostly great dub.

Since the sales of the Japanese Kai releases were so weak that the replacement score version hasn't been (and perhaps won't be) announced yet, now you can barely find Kai singles at shops in Japan, but ironically, there are still tons of Z singles. Currently in Japan, renting single DVDs at video rental shops is the only easy way to watch the whole series of Kai. This fact makes me aware of Kai's obvious failure here.
