There's more potential to this thing than scan someone's power level, like know their history/past/crimes/health/name/address/etc.
Knowing the names.. He he that'd be cool if Death Note existed in the real world.

I think everyone that's watched Death Note wishes there was a real notebook of death lol

The Dragonboxes are like a middle aged woman who still looks good through simply taking good care of her skin and body with maybe a tiny bit of makeup while the Orange Bricks are like a middle aged woman who get's 50 tons of botox, makeup and plastic surgery in order to look younger and as a result looks even worse. ~ ringworm128

I sure don't, it'd be a terrible thing to bestow upon humanity. Plus, who'd choose a book to kill people over planet bursting powers and being able to survive in space?

The video makes me think "iPhone + glasses" and while the concept and software seems really cool, I'd never actually want a pair. I like my contacts so much there's no way I could go back to glasses, not even for augmented reality.

It's subjective in terms of design.
Having something looking exactly like scouter in 2012, will be total design faux pas.
I like this idea and the basic idea is, yeah, it is something like scouter only that it will tell you the temperature and weather outside and not power level of your boss when you screw up something at work.

Not only that, but if you really wanted to kill that badly, you could just use the powers.

But the Death Note is more creative in it's doing so long as the user describes it so.
This is getting way off topic so back to business.
The project does seem interesting to say the least but we would need a live demonstration for more.

If something is truly perfect, that's IT! The bottom line becomes there is no room for imagination! No space for intelligence or ability or improvement! Do you understand? To men of science like us, perfection is a dead end, a condition of hopelessness. Always strive to be better than anything that came before you but not perfect! Scientist's agonize over the attempt to achieve perfection! That's the kind of creatures we are! What do you mean ''Looks aren't always everything?'' the look of a product keeps you from looking like a jackass. and In my opinion I just think it's the new hip goofy thing coming out that will probably cause more harm than good. aren't people satisfied enough with Texting while driving? that's what got my best friend killed.
Well, what else could I mean by "Looks aren't always everything"? How about the technology aspect of it? It's being able to see the world with helpful augmented reality elements...
The look of the thing doesn't seem too "weird" to me, (then again, I guess I'm just more of a acceptable person either way, so that's probably just me), how would you design it to make it look "cool" and "unredicuous"?
I'm not sure how that thing could distract kill people while driving in a way simliar to texting, In the video it even shows you being able to see directions to a destination... it's a GPS on your face!

Your exact quote was "kinda reminds me of when virtual boy came out". What joke? Where's the punchline? From what you wrote it didn't sound like you were trying to be humorous, unless English isn't your first language and your intention of speech was lost in translation or something.

That's actually a pretty amusing point. For as stupid as you'd look wearing this monstrosity having a heavy hunk of metal hanging off your ear connected to a giant neon eye piece would look SO much worse.

I'm not here debate you Son Geeko. If you like the look of the product that's fine! I don't, and I have every right to an opinion as you do. this pointless back and forth conversation is only going to end up getting this topic locked. If you want to speak to me just PM me buddy
I'll answer this though

You really want to walk down the road and see this?
how would you design it to make it look "cool" and "unredicuous"?
Simply put, I probably wouldn't lol that's all I'm going to say I'm not trying to insult you with my opinion

Haha that picture is hilarous, but it's not going to be like that, simply because all that won't fit. I know the picture is just an exaggeration, but the lense won't be the size to cover an entire eye. It looks like right now it's small enough to hang at the top right of your eye and just be in your peripheral vision. At least that's what it looks like.

Yeah I seen that picture in Google Images when I was checking for the Google glasses

Could you just imagine walking and seeing all that garbage lol I'd take those glasses off and throw them in the bin before looking at all that. I mean I have a facebook but check it once? maybe twice a day if that.

Wait, we were arguing?
Dude, I didn't even think what we were doing was a debate/aruegment.

I was just responding on my thoughts on how I thought about the thing. If you were getting mad than that wasn't my intention. You don't like it? That's fine. If you're okay with me liking? Than that's fine too. Hope I wasn't starting anything, just saying what I felt.

I'm not sure if we're going to be seeing everyone's Facebook statuses and emails, the video was more of a simulation anyways so I guess we'll just have to see what the actual product does.

With that many items on the screen, how would you decide which thing you want to answer to? Will there be buttons on the side, or will you be able to just talk and it receives the command. And if it is the speaking thing, what if the glasses receives the wrong command? What if someone asks you to dinner and you say yes but thanks to background noise the glasses think you said no? Also, you would kind of stupid standing in the middle of the street screaming out the word "Yes" over and over again. And how many items could you have on the screen? If using the buttons approach, you would need a lot of those, wouldn't you?
I can imagine this flopping, or, at least getting a redesign/overhaul in the near future. Also, these are extreme driving hazards. Like Youtube's likePOPken said, "You will die on the road if someone spams you notifications."

Oh I Thought we were trying to debate or something

Sorry about that then lol you certainly didn't make me mad, no one really on this site has made me mad. I like this site site too much to fight and get mad. I think sometimes I get really aggravated at all this new technology stuff that keeps coming out, because it reminds me off when my friend got killed by texting(I told him thousands of times keep eyes on the road, and not that stupid phone) sure enough he was texting and got hit by a coal truck. and I just look at these new gizmo's as a distraction. Sure it's leap forward for people that like GPS stuff ect, but sorry for getting this so off topic.
Now this is showing my age BUT! this reminds me of the scouter
Welcome to the rrrrrrrrrr R-ZONE! (This is not me) But I did have one

You guys wish you were half as cool as this kid
