Sure, it would've been obvious if she was his mother, but I'm pretty sure it was left purposefully ambiguous for fan speculation. What good is a series if everything is fed to the reader/watcher strictly without any gray areas or whatnot? But I still think it was probably some random Saiyan chick who gave birth to Goku just for reproduction...
I was voted "most unique" and "most likely to become the next existential thinker" in high school.
