Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season Three - 11th Sept 2012

What is this "Dude My Truck" comment I keep reading about?
Re: Dragon Ball Z Kai: Season Three - 11th Sept 2012
In the fight between #18 and Vegeta, when they are fighting on the road, a truck comes up behind them, and yells at them to get out of the road. 18 is in front of the truck, and Vegeta throws a ki blast at 18, she jumps away, and the blast obliterates the truck and driver. In the Nicktoons version, it was censored so the driver goes "Dude, my truck!". For some reason, they kept this line in the DVD.LordCrumb wrote:What is this "Dude My Truck" comment I keep reading about?

Maybe FUNimation thought it was best for the English dub audience to keep the line on the uncut dub so the parents of the child watching it wouldn't complain about it any more.

Ahh I see. Similar to the old "It's ok, I can see their parachutes" linefunrush wrote:In the fight between #18 and Vegeta, when they are fighting on the road, a truck comes up behind them, and yells at them to get out of the road. 18 is in front of the truck, and Vegeta throws a ki blast at 18, she jumps away, and the blast obliterates the truck and driver. Or maybe he was never there at all!dbboxkaifan wrote:Maybe FUNimation thought it was best for the English dub audience to keep the line on the uncut dub so the parents of the child watching it wouldn't complain about it any more.

But seriously, it's a fuck up. Stuff happens, it's not the worst thing to happen to a DB dub.

That doesn't make sense, though, it's uncut. You can't sensor something that's supposed to be uncut!dbboxkaifan wrote:Maybe FUNimation thought it was best for the English dub audience to keep the line on the uncut dub so the parents of the child watching it wouldn't complain about it any more.

You're right, it's not the worst but this isn't the only flaw FUNimation's Kai dub had. Only English FUNimation Kai fans really care about it, anyway.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:Or maybe he was never there at all!![]()
