I read a comment that said ''Maybe Vampire Hunter D?''' That would be awesome but I highly doubt that's what it is. I'm calling it folks! Dragonball Z some kinda new special! I'm dead wrong and I know it

I'm pretty sure most of us would want this to be Dragon Ball related, but the chances of that to me seem pretty low. Still, anything is possible.
I for one would kill if this were Death Note related though, one of my favorite series of all time, next to DB of course.

Frankly I think that's more plausible.

I highly doubt something like a misterious D letter would be related to any series, but instead probably advertises some new product.

According to V-Jump's official twitter account, a lot of people are guessing the right manga series, but no one has yet to predict what kind of thing happens to "D".

So it is a manga series then. I was actually thinking about that Digital thing myself. Anyway, the more I think about it, the more I doubt it has anything to do with Dragon Ball simply because "D" doesn't strike me as something that would be used to have fans connect to Dragon Ball. The letter "D" does, however, have an significant role in One Piece though. Don't know about anything about D.Gray-man.

My wildest thought is that they're going to do a brand new DB manga series (as in actual new story-lines), but I know that's near-impossible. They already have the cute, yet rehashing SD going on.

This has got to be something related to One Piece's "Will of D".

Yet I get my hopes up that it's something more interesting to me than that; how frustrating that feels.

Well, the comic is turning thirty in two years. If Toei wants to make a big deal out of it two years of production time should be enough. Then again, at this point anything could happen.

My much-wished-for "DB's answer to Strong World movie"? With the same 2-year-long build-up Strong World had? O_O That is an ultimate 'dreams-can-come-true' scenario. It can't be that; not after the dullness of SD and the cut-and-slice that was Kai, can it? I want it to be true so badly though. Frustrating countdown and rumors; making me think we're going to get some juicy DB news after all this year. >_<
I feel like I've been burned before, but it doesn't hurt to dream.
Long, fun-filled, gorgeously-2-D-animated new DB movie with a brand new storyline, how I wish for the rumors to be true.

Um, wasn't the two year long build up purely unintentional due to Oda essentially rewriting the entire movie?

Speaking of, said movie would require the heavy involvement of the original author (which is never going to happen). Maybe they can get whoever made the 2008 special so enjoyable. Otherwise it's going to be a wash.

I don't follow One Piece that closely, I wouldn't know the reason why it was two years. I'm aware the original script was different and then chucked for a new one. I know Oda worked on it while simultaneously working on the manga.

I guess I should've been more detailed earlier, or I should've made the comparison looser. It's not even the idea of Toriyama-involvement that would've been the main thing for me. I really enjoyed the Jump 08 special; I'd like to have those writers back.

For me, Strong World was a really good One Piece movie; storyline, action, and presentation. The hype leading up to it was also exciting. It would be nice if there were to be a similar situation occur with DB, in my opinion.
