I don't know about "favorite" rumor in and of itself, but this is my favorite one only because, looking back on it, the experience that this rumor put me and my friends through is pretty funny. There was a rumor that spread like wildfire around my school back in 6th grade that, in the uncut version of DBZ (which most of us never stayed up to 12:30 to watch), there was a scene cut from the broadcast version where one, how do I put this delicately...sees Vegeta and Bulma engage in red hot carnal activities make Trunks. In graphic detail.

I mean...please bare in mind, we were all 10-11 years old when this happened. We were curious, the internet wasn't quite as informed about DBZ as it is now, and our ability to differentiate truth from rumor wasn't nearly as cultivated as it would eventually become. Having said that...yeah, me and my friends hunted for that scene online for weeks, and all we ever found was fan art. Disturbing, disturbing fan art that was never meant to be seen by the weak of heart. That and our computers got a ton of viruses, which in turn necessitated an unbelievably awkward talk with our parents explaining what we were trying to find, which led them to think of DBZ some time afterwords as "that cartoon porno show," and...ugh...

Anyway, that scene doesn't exist. Just so 'ya know.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Yeah I remember that people were saying that Baby and Super 17 were secret characters in Budokai 3 and you would unlock them in the Dragon Arena mode when you fought and defeated Dr. ZoidBerg after he "Broke In". lol

I also remember people were saying you could unlock SSJ3 Goku in Budokai 1 by beating the Advanced Tournament with all the saiyans.

Also I remember back in 5th grade my cousin telling this kid that there was 1000 episodes of GT. The next day the kid comes back and starts trying to tell my cousin that on episode 600 Gochu was born and he was born a super saiyan blah blah blah. And I'm just sitting back laughing my ass off and going "the fuck?" lol.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

I don't remember where, but I remember seeing somewhere Bardock and King Vegeta were related, making Vegeta and Goku "like cousins". This was back in middle school.

I remember reading online that if you beat Legacy of Goku 10 times, SSj1 would be unlocked from the beginning of the game and Goku would turn SSj2 against Freeza. Beating it 10 times as SSj1 would unlock SSj2 from the get go, allowing you to fight Freeza as SSj3. Beating it 10 times as SSj2 would unlock SSj3 from the get go. I played through it so many times...

I think my favourite old rumours were the Final Bout cheats to unlock characters such as Gotenks and Pilaf, that future Trunks would become SS2 at some point in the series (I was thinking that he might make an appearance in the Boo arc), and that Goten was conceived when Gokuu and Chi-Chi had the house to themselves in those 10 days before the Cell Games, featuring a full, uncensored sex scene between them.

 That one reminds me of an event that I have "fond" memories of too. Back when I was in 6th grade, and was just starting to get into DBZ, there was an Asian kid that I was friends with named Tai. He was also sort of a fan, and it was kind of because of him that I checked out DBZ at all (I had some kind of stupid bet going with him that Pokemon was better than DBZ or something) - though I didn't get into it at first because of that damned Bulma and the crabs episode. But that's another story entirely sorta.

Anyway, once I really started to get into DBZ, he told me that I should check out the sequel series. I told him I'd heard about GT, but he said there were two more after that - 'Dragon Ball Hentai' and 'Dragon Ball XXX' respectively. He convinced me to Google the two when I got home. ...Things did not go well from there as you can imagine.

Ahem.

Anyway, back on topic - I think most of my favorite rumors have already been said. I remember all the old live-action casting rumors (I saw most of mine in Pojo), those were always fun. I think the only rumor I remember that hasn't been mentioned here is, when I first got to reading about Majin Boo and his arc, I was somehow convinced by a site entry (I almost want to say it was on the old Planet Namek site but don't quote me on that) somewhere that said Majin Boo was yet ANOTHER creation of Dr. Gero, as was Baby, Super 17, and the evil Dragons. So basically, everything post-Freeza was all the fault of this Dr. Gero guy. I thought that sounded odd, but SURELY all these people typing stuff into websites knew more about DB than I did, right?! ...Good times. :P

My favorite rumor is the one I've started among my friends and family when we're watching DBZ on Toonami. "You know, I've heard that Goku cheats on Chichi with Bulma and they have a kid together. He has purple hair and can transform to a super saiyan and everything!" Of course that was less of a rumor and more of a bold face lie. I just liked shipping Goku and Bulma together back in the day.

Another recent favorite is one I've told my cousin when he was watching DB Kai last year and he asked me about GT, I told him "There's a GT movie where Goku turns evil and it's up to Vegeta and the rest of the fighters to stop him. It was never released in the US though, and you can only find it on VHS tape".

I then had to explain what a VHS was...

I seem to remember that there was a Photoshopped image of a golden Ozaru in the game as well and I was going to bring that up. Wasn't something like that on the site's rumor guide or something? I'm not sure why, but I kind of liked that.

That makes me think of some of the old Pokémon rumors, like the idea that you could get a Dragonite to evolve into Yoshi. Apparently there was also one that said you could somehow make a Lickitung evolve into Luigi, though I never actually heard that one back in the day (only spotted it mentioned on lists of old Pokémon rumors many years after the fact.)

The Golden Oozaru was like a rumor for a day. I remember in 2004 on Dragnet (I think that's name of the site) had the official artist saying that he created for fun. I also remember the rumors of Budokai 3 was going to have over 100 characters at one point.

I used to believe when I was a kid that, if you could perfectly defend against the Genki-Dama or other finishing moves, that you could send the attack back to the user. I thought that would be so epic. It turned out it wasn't true.

2 and 3 both had ultimate struggle minigames, but I'm pretty sure you'd be thinking of 2. That's the one where you had to twirl the analog sticks to defend against the opponent's ultimate. I remember thinking the exact same thing - if I pushed my side of the bar to fill up the entire section, I would've knocked the Ultimate back!

Yeah. Funny how I recently discovered it. I got the game a few weeks ago and tried my childhood belief. Unfortunately I was disappointed. They really should add the ability to redirect supers and ultimates. The closest I've seen is in raging blast where you can deflect supers. Still cool, but I want a complete redirect ability.

I would also like to add that when I was younger and saw Broly fight Gogeta, I thought that actually happened originally in a dbz movie or some other dbz related animation. I found out the games only did it and at the time believed they were equal. Of course I now know they aren't even close.

I remember Gotenks was supposedly playable in Dragon Ball GT: Final Bout

Of course my absolute favorite was the Dragon Ball AF rumor along with the Super Saiyan 5 picture.

A Pokemon rumour that I remember was nothing to do with Pokemon evolving into different characters, but I found a fake cheat code on a website that would supposedly unlock a sex scene between Ash and Misty in Pokemon Yellow. I actually tried it, but obviously, it didn't work.
