What do you think happened to Mr. Satan in Trunks' timeline?

Mr Satan does not seek out villains if there is no one to impress. In the main timeline, he didn't get himself involved when the actual attacks were happening.

He only became involved because Cell made a public announcement that the only way to save the world was for strongest martial artists to fight in the Cell Games. As the current world champion, that put the pressure on him to stand up.

If Mr. Satan was pushed into the same area as 17 and 18 at some point in Trunk's timeline, he would have ran away very quickly.

Would he? I'm not sure about this. Mr. Satan seemed to be quite confident he could deal with Cell. Even after all the damage he had done. It was only when Goku started to fight him that he quickly realised he wouldn't stand a chance. I feel that these events would have played out the same in Trunk's time. He would have assumed that he can beat them because he's never really seen an individual with power like the Z-Fighters. And then when they destroy the surrounding area with just their bodies he'd realise he is no match. Of course it would be too late for him to take back whatever rubbish he spewed about him being the "champ."

Mr. Satan was about to die after being shot in the Majin Boo arc, in a pretty serious way, by two simple thiefs-killers.
So with super-powerful androids, that would not end well.

I guess he wouldn't face them and stay hidden though.
Cell did minor damages before the Cell Game, only partly destroying a town on-screen and an army off-screen (people may imagine that he used "human ways" like bombs and all...).
In the alternative timeline, cyborgs are known to have ruined the whole world, destroying cities and armies everywhere.
It's hard to explain, but apocalyptic as this world looks to everyone there, people wouldn't even think that sending one man could solve anything.

I don't think the challenge would happen post-apocalyptic. Mr. Satan won the Tenkaichi Budokai about a week before the androids started attacking in the DBZ timeline we know. And the apocalyptic world wouldn't have come about that quickly. So I feel Mr. Satan would have challenged them before they did too much damage, much like Cell. We can't forget that Trunks is from a future timeline. A time where the Androids had been destroying the world for around 18 years(I think).

It depends on how fast the androids killed the Z warriors. If they killed them straight away, then went on to the rest of humanity, I can see Mr Satan challenging them when they start wrecking a big city. Then he gets his ass handed to him, and the rest of the Earth is destroyed.

I'd like to think that the androids kept him as a pet. A weird, hairy sort of pet who they occasionally feed as long as he does ridiculous things for them.

Mr. Satan went against Mr. Buu when one sixth of the Earth's population had been killed already.
He would certainly go against pretty much anything as long as he had a witness or a cameraman with him.

For me, maybe it's because of that it is a little bit late or something, but I believe that 17 and Mr. Satan would become a good comedic duo. 17 sees the hardworking, albeit weak, man inside Mr. Satan and starts to help him out instead of killing him. 17 also starts to develop pride in his power, to be able to use it for good. Together they have adventures, and go around seeing the world.
When they come back to West City, it is in ruins. 18 has destroyed it in boredom.
Mr. Satan, in tears, claims that he has to get his revenge on 18. 17 explains that he can't let Mr. Satan to hurt his sister, and they part ways, with 17 promising a fair match if Mr. Satan becomes stronger.
During a heavy training session in the mountains, Mr. Satan realizes that he isn't growing much in power at all. But then he sees a cave...Dr. Gero's cave.
He goes inside and finds documents. Mind you, Kuririn and Gohan never blew it up in this timeline (let's just say so). He realizes that he could become a cyborg himself.
So he takes a journey to West City and summons Bulma, who in the name of peace and in mourning of Gohan's death agrees on using the blueprints to make Mr. Satan into a cyborg.
And so, Mr. Satan becomes a cyborg.
He approaches 17 once again and he agrees to a fight between fellow cyborgs to the death.
But they have to wait for 18 first, since she is out shopping.
When she arrives, the fight commences. They fight heartily and Mr. Satan manages to knock 18 out.
17 and Mr. Satan fight each other with tears in their eyes as a small miscalculation leaves Mr. Satan right into a huge ki blast. As he is lying there, almost dying, they have a small talk about the meaning of life. And so, Mr. Satan passes, and leaves the torch to Trunks. 17 cries over the unfairness of live and promises to himself to never love again. Never.

Satan: Have no fear! These so called monsters attacking our cities are nothing more than teenage terrorists using a bunch of tricks and explosives to try and make the world cower in fear. But I, Mr. Satan, your world champion, won't allow it! I'm going to track down those punks and give them an ass kicking they'll never forget! Ah ha ha hahaha!

I think he was either kill or just spend most of his time hiding. I think Mr. Satan got popular popular for fighting Cell and people thought he won the fight. Not to mention Cell created the Cell Games and people across the Earth was watching the games.

Once the Androids became infamous, Mr. Satan would've invited cameramen to witness him challenge the Androids and save Earth, but eventually he and the cameraman would be swiftly killed by them. Admittedly, that's pretty boring, but I think it's the most plausible scenario.
