I would think that they would change the song for the new Kai stuff.

A new opening would be nice but it's most likely Toei will just reuse Dragon Soul for the Buu stuff. Then again people thought there wouldn't even be a Buu arc so it pays not to give up hope.

Colleen Clinkenbeard and Dameon Clarke spring to mind.

I'd love a Caitlin Glass or Meredith McCoy version.

I'm hoping they get Kageyama back, whether it's a new opening or a re-use of "Dragon Soul." Hey, a guy can dream, right?
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

You could ask LordCrehavos9000 to do Dragon Soul in Perfect Cell's voice since he's practically a dead ringer for Mr Clarke, though he's been hesitant in doing it even though he's not half-bad singing as Cell.

A Colleen Clinkenbeard would be awesome IMO since her voice is one of my favorites. Also Dameon Clarke would be pretty interesting.

ok so I realised my main issue with the songs, after listening to Brina Palencia's version. Now she is a good singer, but they've (I dunno whether it was a concious decision to hide any singing flaws/faults) shrouded and overpowered her with the instrumental you can barely hear her.

Out of interest are there any links of audio geniuses who have cranked up Brina's voice?

I did find it funny going to my first ever convention late last year and hearing Vic Mignogna singing Dragon Soul in the background when I was eating lunch. Good times.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.

Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

I like it when songs are dubbed too but I wish the full versions were dubbed too.

I really want them to get Vic Mignogna back, and sing the song with his own voice. I love the NickToons version, but his normal voice is so good.

I agree. That was what was disappointing to me about his version of Dragon Soul, it wasn't that it was bad, it was just that I know Vic can do waaaayyyy better based on his other songs.

Like his version of 'Brothers".
That song was already the best song in any anime ever and he made it even better for me.

Does Ms. McCoy still work for Funi? The fact she was recast kinda made me think she didn't.

They know she can sing though as she already did the a wonderful rendition of the second One Piece opening. So yeah I would love to hear her at least sing a song in Kai.

I don't think she does. I seem to remember that Funimation got her to come back for Maria Ross in the dub of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood though. I think that's the last thing she did for them.

That's kinda bizarre. She was a great Ross but Ross' role in FMAB is even smaller than her role in FMA. It's certainly nothing comparable to how iconic 18 is.

They have weird priorities. They make sure to get McCoy back for Ross but they don't get Clarke back for Scar. He almost didn't come back for Cell either I hear.

Well, Clarke is now a member of a union, and it's risky to do non-union work when you're a union member.

Not that it matters because it's Dartanian Nickelback voicing Cell in Kai. :P

Kinda off topic but I just noticed my 'Dragon Soul Sextet' video is featured in a TVtropes article for Earworms in Anime.

I would love for their to be a Meredith McCoy version of DS since I think she has an awesome singing voice.
