How come didn't Freezer use his finger supernova at the end?

Nah... I don't think it's anything to do with the dub's "1% of my power" line. It's just that 0.01% of 4th-form Freeza's full power is still more than twice what Freeza's first form had... which was already enough to blow up a planet.

Freeza's Death Ball was never in the manga. We never saw how he destroyed planet Vegeta, and it was filler in his fight with Trunks. That's why the thing he tries to use just before he gets hit by the spirit bomb and he actually destroys Namek with is a different attack.

And then Freeza would have died in the explosion, Goku would have been wished back to life on earth (no learning Instantaneous Movement, sad day), and they would have likely beaten the Artificial Humans when they showed up some way or another. Then no time travel. Yay?
