Which is exactly why someone like Toriyama would never be found posting here. In Japan every public appearance or fan interaction is meticulously vetted and every condition tightly controlled. Q&A sessions are very contrived and polite because public image is vital - it's all about saving face and being squeaky clean. Furthermore, anything that reflects the national image is white-washed by the press, Dragonball's global appeal means that it falls into that category.

I highly doubt that's the case, because Akira Toriyama is probably too busy in his life to visit an english forum, much less have the time to be a member of said forum for almost 6 years, I mean don't get me wrong it would be interesting and cool if FindKenshi actually is Akira Toriyama, but realistically speaking I don't see that actually being the case.

Like Black_Liger, I think his English wouldn't be good somehow (but I don't why).

And I don't think he would be interested enough in his work to check out what the international community thinks about it, if he had to visit one just to check around what it's like, it would probably be directly a Japanese community forum that he can easily understand. Probably just for the fun of being amazed at how many discussions there can be about his story, thinking "Oh? They put some thoughts into that? They really wonder too much" or "Who's that character they're talking about again?"

I think it's more than likely that people from Toei have taken a look around on more than one occasion. Market research is a big thing.

You never know. Guillermo del Toro visits internet forums (or more precisely, his official forum) every once in a while and Guillermo is a busy guy himself. He just doesn't tweet or blog. (Meeting GDT in person kinda confirms it too.)

So if GDT visits internet forums, I don't see why Akira Toriyama can't do the same either.
