Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
And how well would that have worked? Vegeta and Goku were their respective guides, knowing far more about the SSJ. It would also put Gohan and Trunks at an unfair advantage, which I would personally dislike.
Vegeta: "Funny... I seem to recall Kakarot being fed the same information right before he transformed; the distinct look on your faces when he went Super Saiyan didn't exactly inspire confidence. One does not predict or calculate power like ours."

Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
Gohan was already at an advantage after the RoSaT, and Trunks was the weakest of the three Super Saiyans going in. Obviously things would have to be changed around more than just that, but I don't think it would be a bad idea to have Trunks come out stronger than those two.TheMightyOzaru wrote:And how well would that have worked? Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
Some part of me wanted Trunks to lay the smackdown on Cell but, heavily hindering Goku and Vegeta isn't the way to do it.

Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
Vegeta and Trunks didn't really train together. Trunks could teach Gohan what Gohan taught him. Gohan will come out base form only. But the highest base power. Then Goku can train him to try to get SSJ within the 7 day wait. Then will all the build up Gohan achives SSJ during the Cell Games and kicks ass. Same things happen cept Trunks doesn't die and Gohan and Trunks do the final clash. Gohan will see Goku and Trunks would see Future Gohan. Only downside is we don't get Trunks and Vegeta relationship development something that I enjoyed.TheMightyOzaru wrote:And how well would that have worked? Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
There are many, but storytelling wise I hate that some minor villains were considered such when their powers and abilities say otherwise-
Devilman from Dragonball is dangerous enough to be his own story arc villain, since literally only Goku can defeat him. Instead he's just Baba's prized fighter
Captain Ginyu is another one. You'd think someone with the power to change bodies wouldn't submit to anyone, since anyone stronger than him, he'd switch bodies. Knowing how Freeza likes to play with his kills, I can see the switch happening easily between them.

No, not just Goku. Goten and Gohan can also ride the Kinto'un, so they're pure of heart as well. And, well, if the main character is immune to his power it makes him completely pointless as an arc villain.

Yeah...You watch One Piece? There was this lighting guy? No one could touch him except Luffy. Since He was rubber. Literally. Write a villain well enough and even if his power is useless against the main hero, he can still be a threat to everyone else.Saiga wrote:No, not just Goku. You're missing the point. Trunks watched Vegeta progress. He knew how to ascend because he studied his father. Same goes for Gohan.TheGmGoken wrote:Vegeta and Trunks didn't really train together. Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
Devilman was totally shit, though, unlike Enel. And Enel was still able to use his powers in ways that WOULD be effective on Luffy, like fusing the gold to his arm and removing him from the fight temporarily. With Devilman, he's either strong enough to be a threat to Goku or he isn't. If he is, then Goku just needs to get stronger and whup his ass, making him no different from any other arc villain. The side characters are pretty much useless anyway so all Devilman would achieve is making it logical for Goku to get all the glory.FoolsGil wrote:Yeah...You watch One Piece? That everything takes place only in Japan (as it seems). All the enemies are landing on Japan, all fights take place in Japan while everything has to do with the whole world.

Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
Which part of this looks like Japan? Japan doesn't even exist in Dragon Ball. lolTheRed259 wrote:That everything takes place only in Japan (as it seems). All the enemies are landing on Japan, all fights take place in Japan while everything has to do with the whole world.

Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
Even so, Dragonball is full of Chinese and Japanese culture (temples, tournaments, Kung Fu, food, people) which leads us to the conclusion that this may be Japan (or sth Asian)...

Except....it's not. We literally have a map of the Dragon World. It's its own place.TheRed259 wrote:Even so, Dragonball is full of Chinese and Japanese culture (temples, tournaments, Kung Fu, food, people) which leads us to the conclusion that this may be Japan (or sth Asian)...

It should lead to the conclusion that fantasy worlds are inspired by what the author knows and/or is interested in.TheRed259 wrote:Even so, Dragonball is full of Chinese and Japanese culture (temples, tournaments, Kung Fu, food, people) which leads us to the conclusion that this may be Japan (or sth Asian)...
Do you follow the most comprehensive and entertaining Dragon Ball analysis series on YouTube? If you do, you're smart and awesome and fairly attractive. If not, see what all the fuss is about without even having to leave Kanzenshuu:

Endless wastelands...
Also even though the movies aren't canon and all that it really bothers me to think that Freeza is practically ruler of the universe when guys like Bojack and Broly are running around.

Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
The idea of there always being these much stronger guys that were never even hinted at before when all the past villains were called the strongest is kind of silly, but also as a kid I remember finding it odd that on one hand there were dinosaurs and other extinct creatures running around and on the other hand the people of Earth had all this advanced technology like the capsules and spaceships.

Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
pretty sure that we see more "white" people in dragonball than "asian". Culture in dragonball is so unique. Categorizing it by even just asian is nearly impossible. I will agree that it takes the majority of it's culture from Japanese, but there's more to it than that.TheRed259 wrote:Even so, Dragonball is full of Chinese and Japanese culture (temples, tournaments, Kung Fu, food, people) which leads us to the conclusion that this may be Japan (or sth Asian)...
Back to the the question: Ssj4 Goku being able to withstand the power of the sun, but getting cut by normal glass.

Re: Your biggest problem with Dragon Ball logic
Honestly I really don't have any problems, at least not anymore, with any of that Dragon Ball logic. I used to have a problem with the length of time that it would take for some people to power up their Ki or attacks but then I saw a pretty decent explanation about the anime extending the amount of time of battles and so forth for time, which just makes sense.dbzfan7 wrote:This can be an inconsistency or problem that stemmed from the anime, movie, special, etc. What problem whenever you think about it just annoys you.
Kyle Broflovski wrote:It's all real. Think about it. Haven't Luke Skywalker and Santa Claus affected your lives more than most real people in this room? I mean, whether Jesus is real or not, he - he's had a bigger impact on the world than any of us have. And the same can be said for Bugs Bunny and - and Superman and Harry Potter. They've changed my life - changed the way I act on the earth. Doesn't that make them kind of real? They might be imaginary but, but they're more important than most of us here. And they're all gonna be around here long after we're dead. So, in a way, those things are more realer than any of us.
