Gurren Laggan got a GREAT fanbase. Occasional Dub vs Sub but normally those don't last long as everyone then agree to respect each other opinions on charactersgoku the krump dancer wrote:Is there anything ever, with a good fanbase? I mean even Jesus has his share of closed minded supporters..
What's your explanation on what's wrong with the DB fanbase.

TTGL fandom is full of close minded shonen junkies who have never seen another mecha show in their life and think it's God's gift.
And I love TTGL. See, people in groups are full of huge spectrums, but no fanbase will be remembered as anything other than obnoxious because those shout the loudest.

What Gurren Lagann fans have you been talking to? I've seen many fans compare it to other mecha and respect them. I'm talking about majority lol.Storm wrote:TTGL fandom is full of close minded shonen junkies who have never seen another mecha show in their life and think it's God's gift.

Edit: Kaze No Stigma fanbase seems good as well.

Fans of TTGL. See, when you generalize and cherry pick a group of thousands of people, it's easy to say "they're mostly this way." It can really be argued either way.

What's TTGL?
And just about any sizable fanbase is going to have some bad apples.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.ABED wrote:What's TTGL?
And true, if you look closely enough at any fandom, I'd say in about five minutes you'd find at least one guy you wanna smack. It's just the nature of the beast I guess. And as far as the Digimon thing goes, I like both versions, but how anyone could ever prefer the English music (a lot of which I like) more-so than the Japanese score...I...I can't even fathom it.

TTGL = Gurren Lagann or the long name version. Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann.
There is only 1 good fanbase that's is a decent size. But even that is filled with bad apples. AT best it's decent. But it's not an anime so... I won't say. It's not even a sport.

Well, I didn't say I preferred the English music, just the English dub overall.
Although it has it's faults, I think some of the jokes they add are actually really funny and some of the characters are handled better.
I'm re-watching Dragon Ball GT in full on my blog. Check it out if you're interested in my thoughts on the series as I watch through it!

Exactly which is why I'm sorta bothered by all the "DBZ FANS SUCK" threads and stuff like that, Sonic gets brought up a lot aswell but I'm sure any group of supporters of anything is split 50/50 between its more open minded and its obnoxious supporters. It'd be kinda crazy to imagine Kanzenshuu being the only place with sane Dragon Ball fans and even then, some of us here can get a little crazy.. so yeah.ABED wrote:What's TTGL?

At least we are not as bad as the Godzilla fanbase. We never had people in their 30's and 40's fighting over Bandai figures
. You have fans on the Facebook that act like that you are not a real collector if you don't buy all the expensive stuff and that the collectors who buy the cheaper stuff are just idiots who don't know what they are doing.

Oh no worries, that wasn't directed at you at all - I just meant in general. Anyway, everyone's allowed to like what they like after all.Saiga wrote:Well, I didn't say I preferred the English music, just the English dub overall.Although it has it's faults, I think some of the jokes they add are actually really funny and some of the characters are handled better.
And note to self apparently, don't step foot near the Godzilla fanbase...

I didn't like the 98 film (didn't hate it either) but if you claim the originals weren't much better, holy CRAP! You'd think you insulted The Godfather.

I was watching a youtube video and the top comment was bashing the Japanese fanbase for saying that Bruce Faulconer doesn't put in any work into his BGM music. I think we can all agree here that while it may not fit certain scenes, he does put effort into his work.

Not into that Super Boo theme song. Cause he got inspirited the same way Kenji Yammato got inspired.DynasticHunter wrote:I was watching a youtube video and the top comment was bashing the Japanese fanbase for saying that Bruce Faulconer doesn't put in any work into his BGM music. Not going to lie. I go crazy for the GodFather. But damn they treat Godzilla that serious? I need to see some of this. Not get involve but just to look at it.I didn't like the 98 film (didn't hate it either) but if you claim the originals weren't much better, holy CRAP! You'd think you insulted The Godfather.
