Thoughts on DBZ Movie 7
Re: Thoughts on DBZ Movie 7
Enjoyable enough, with some great animation and scenery but it's somewhat lacklustre.
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

Re: Thoughts on DBZ Movie 7
...Well the animation here was nice. And it did give us that music that would later go on to be used for the defeat of Majin Boo, which is a theme I always liked. And there were some badass moments here and there, I especially liked Vegeta's transformation. Also the genkidama-absorbing thing was kinda cool I guess. Still though, them villains... They were bland even by DBZ movie standards, and Super 13's design was kind of, uh... awful.
Oh, and I would also like to comment on the ending-theme, which is a song I always found a bit off... Like, it honestly sounds really cool at first... until the chorus kicks in and is probably the most anti-climactic underwhelming payoff ever. Also, one thing that shouldn't bother me, but it did because I'm extremely nitpicky...

This image is slightly skewed!! The edge of the movie-clip is not perfectly paralell with the actual edge of the frame! MINOR ANNOYANCE!!!!!!!!!
On the whole, not as crap as movies 4 or 11, but I would hardly call it particularly good either. I might place it higher than the sixth though, because at least the animation wasn't glaringly awful half the time.

Re: Thoughts on DBZ Movie 7
Had poor Goku's nutshot- which is just a hilariously unexpected level of crude from a Z movie- Funi's redneck #13, Goku in a shopping mall, Trunk's wonderful comeback to Suer #13 (Guess what, I'm from 20 years from now, and 20 years from now- you don't exist!) and lot of jokes at Krillin's expense without quite too many. And Super Sayain Spirit Bomb; I will agree we needed that to be cleared up. Beyond that, not too exciting, and Super #13 is such a huge plot hole (and can actually be called out as such for trying to tie into the series proper) it is almost funny, not to mention enormously tacky. One of the worst designs in the series, frankly. The idea of a Smurf Super Sayain isn't funny enough to be the villain of your movie.

To me movie 7 is the very definition of a mediocre DBZ film. It wasn't terrible by any means but it definitely isn't my favorite by a long shot. The ending leaves me cracking up every time though
