Which is bullshit since if a song is good you should be able to listen to it for hours. Unless it's something that goes for the whole game with literally no stopping (i.e Ghostbusters NES). I don't recall pulling my hair out going "ugh! If I have to hear the f..king Mario theme one more time!!!!!"Composers are afraid of driving players crazy with melodies played over and over hour after hour.

It would be a sad day if melodious music disappeared from popular media completely.

If you add variety to the game's soundtrack, then there is nothing to worry about when it comes to annoying the player.

Re: Something I've noticed about DBZ game music
I have to agree that Final Fantasy has some of the catchiest music. I haven't even played most of the games in the series and I can fairly vividly call to mind the battle music and the little victory jingle. They're great melodies. For me, nothing in any DBZ game score is on the same level as that. Tenkaichi 2 had some really nice stuff, but I can't actually remember individual melodies all that well. Budokai 2 was pretty good too, but a lot of the standout tracks were just instrumental versions of previously released Tower of Power songs. The 16-bit stuff has its own nostalgic charm, but I find myself not being able to seriously listen to it.
