Re: How many of you guys own all of Kai and the dragon boxes
I don't own any Kai, that's not to say I wouldn't if I could. I'd get it on blu ray but the whole region nonsense has put me off buying em.
I do own the American Dragonbox's as DVD players are easy to modify and are really cheap now.

Re: How many of you guys own all of Kai and the dragon boxes
I own all of the DBoxes but none of Kai. The latter might be partly because of the former. Since they were coming out at the same time, and I only had money and shelf space for one DBZ release, I was definitely going for the one I've waited years to get. But then again, I've only ever had a passing interest in Kai anyway. There's also the fact that the DBoxes spoiled me so that I have a hard time accepting any future release that doesn't have Japanese credits or title cards!

Re: How many of you guys own all of Kai and the dragon boxes
I have all of Kai on Blu-Ray although it's Kikuchi from start to finish. I do have my Yamamoto mux from 1-95 on my PC at least.
I also have the Japanese Dragon Boxes of GT and Z. Patched the ISOs on my PC so they're all subbed which is nice. Thank god for my 3TB anime drive

Re: How many of you guys own all of Kai and the dragon boxes
That's my collection right there, minus the Japanese Kai. If only the copyright infringement scandal could have waited till after we got parts five through eight... :/VegettoEX wrote:Yes, I have all seven FUNimation Dragon Boxes.
For Kai, I have the JP Blu-ray Vol. 1 and the JP DVD Vol. 33 (first and final volumes, respectively... at least until the Buu arc). On the FUNimation side, I purchased the first four "Part" two-disc Blu-ray releases to at least have the domestically-released Yamamoto!Kai. No real interest in having anything beyond that until the Buu arc, which I'll probably purchase. I guess I could fill in with "Seasons" three and four at some point, but I have zero real inclination to do so...
Also curious on the reason. I mean, I don't really fit in with most people when it comes to what they purchase when it comes to the series, because I'm a certified idiot.

Re: How many of you guys own all of Kai and the dragon boxes
Ugh, I really hate thinking about this. My whole collection is an inconsistent mess, mainly because of money reasons.
In terms of DBZKai, I own Madman's release of Part 1 on DVD because it was ridiculously priced at JB Hi-Fi (where I had gift cards for) and I couldn't afford the Blu-Ray. That, and we didn't have an HD TV at the time. However, due to the various flaws on the Madman's release, I picked up Parts 2 and 3 on Blu-Ray. They were more reasonably priced this time around. Then the whole Yamamoto scandal broke out and I imported FUNimation's Part 4 from Amazon as Madman had pushed there's back to replace the music (man, that was crazy times). By the time I got 'round to buying Parts 5 and 6, our PS3 was broken and we didn't have a Blu-Ray player, so the DVDs it was. Now, we reach the present day and my Kai collection still isn't complete. I intend on purchasing FUNimation's 'Season' 4 on DVD to finish everything off (until Buu, that is), though. After that, I'll probably pick up a DVD folder/wallet/book thing so I at least don't have to deal with the inconsistent packaging looking funny on my shelf.
Dragon Boxes...eh, I only own volumes 3 &. 5. I wish I'd had more urgency in picking these up, but at the time of their release, no one said anything about them being limited. It was only when Dragon Box 2 started disappearing that we realized something was up. Then FUNi spilled the beans and here we are. I still had multiple opportunities to pick these up, but as a 13 year old who didn't have the money to pick up Kai and the Dragon Boxes at the same time...well... There was also the fact that, at the time, I still didn't see the point in owning (what was essentially) the same episodes twice; even though they were pretty distinctive releases. If they'd started bringing out the Dragon Boxes now, this wouldn't be such a depressing post to write.
Amazing how this all went down in 2010-2012. DaizEX/Kanzenshuu had an amazing impact on my purchasing habits. I owned hardly any DB merchandise before I joined here. It's that damn "Show Off Your DB Crap" thread. I just got so envious of everyone's collections that I went crazy with money that I didn't, and still don't, have. I like to put some of the blame on FUNi though. Their stupid release schedule... It's lucky for them that the typical (English speaking) DBZ fan isn't 9 years old and operating on a small weekly allowance anymore.
By the way, I am aware that I tend to mention age a lot on this forum, as if I wear it like a badge of hounour. Sorry if it gets tiresome, but I just feel like it gives context. I'm not trying to come off as, "I'm 13 and 13 year olds don't have to be able to do this, and I can get away with doing this, because I'm only 13 and na-na-na-na." Well, maybe I am a little bit, buuuut...

Re: How many of you guys own all of Kai and the dragon boxes
I own all seven dragon boxes, plus all 8 parts of kai on blu ray(first 4 being yamamoto score then 5-8 are kikuchi). I bought each dragon box and each part of kai as they came out. Plus i own all the dbz movies on blu ray, the blue dragon ball bricks and green gt bricks as well.
Re: How many of you guys own all of Kai and the dragon boxes
I own the Dragon Box, and plan on getting the VizBigs. No desire for Kai.

I have all of Kai, that's it...
It is in his character to be rude and a bit crass. He's a hick, with no formal education. That is Son Goku. That is who he is.
Superman in an orange Gi was the bastard son of FUNimation. Its not The real character, it is as false as Chatku.

I have all of Funimation's DBZ Dragon Boxes and volumes 3 and 4 of Kai to help get through a chunk of the Freeza arc quicker.

Well, I own the Japanese DBZ Dragonboxes TV series, movie box, and the DBGT Dragonbox.... I also own all of Kai on DVD released in France. (Really a bummer they didn't do Blu Ray).
