I'm tired of mediocre fighting games. But unfortunately, like Rocketman said, every time they stray, it sells poorly. Super Dragon Ball Z, Advanced Adventure and Attack of the Saiyans were all really good games that I wish we'd have more of. I'd love to get my hands on Boyhood Chapter, it looks fun and in the same vein as Attack of the Saiyans, but it didn't even get localized.

Fighting games appeal to more people. The main buyers of DBZ games are fans, hardcore fans like us and casual people who grew up watching DBZ on Cartoon Network from 1996 - 2003. We're a niche franchise, Namco Bandai will likely think a RPG game on the consoles won't sell well.

I would love to see a really fleshed out, nicely done Dragon Ball RPG. Unfortunately, I really don't see it happening...

I really would love a sequel game to Attack of The Saiyans for the ds. So fun and really creative. I wouldn't mind a fighting game if it was good! These last dragonball games are something else...

Those games mentioned by Rocketman are on smaller consoles though, aside from Sagas what other non fighting DB game is there to compare on the home consoles? Not many, so we can't really say how good or bad they would do. And from what I've heard sagas was not only a non fighter, it was also a poorly made game. So we can't really draw any conclusions if you ask me. About Super DBZ, tbh I don't even know if that got a release in the UK, the first I'd ever laid eyes on it was when my cousin went over to the US, bought the ps3 before it came out in the uk, and also randomly bought the game. Aside from his copy I've never actually seen another copy myself ever. Tried playing it on my ps2 not too long ago once their ps3 broke, but unfortunately it's region locked. Tbh back then I was pretty young anyway so I probably wouldn't have appreciated or understood how to properly play the game.

One reason why they haven't and probably won't attempt an RPG or non fighter (save for Sagas) of some sort, is probably because it likely won't be well made with only a years development period. However, there seems to be a shift in Namco Bandai's attitude as of present; with what Treevax has been hinting I feel as though this new one might have been in development for at least a year and half, if not longer, already. If this is the case then NB could very well be up to the idea of having a non fighter in the works whilst another game is being developed and released. Maybe after one two games we could request that.
