I'd have to also agree with Supreme here. While FUNimation do have to pay some fee's in order to keep the property in their domain, it's not as if they're buying remastered prints or new artwork from the Japanese, so this re-release doesn't need to be as stingy as can be. It's a fairly highly rated show, with millions of fans world-wide, not some creepy ped-show like Popotan or Happy Lesson.

While a certian ammount of support can be shown for FUNimation's release, the saiyan/namek saga doesn't exactly have any justification, considering-

1. The rights were changed over in august, 2004
2. we're in 2006, and onlythe 9th volume has been scheduled (late 20's, maybe? like, 25-27?)
3. the dub was completed some time back and shown in it's entirety on CN to a very receptive audience.

It's simply a matter of not so much greed, but total ignorance in thinking things like general assumptions and internet surveys speak for everyone. Do you honestly think people are bursting at the seams to pay $25 (yeah I know you can get online discounts, but lets not deny what FUNimation is actually looking for in terms of sales) for 3 episodes in shoddy 5.1 and subtitles? Nice things and all, but please, come on, use some logic.

To be frank, "DBZ is so last year," otherwise it would still be getting excellent ratings on TV and be just as popular now as it was in 2000. Now it's a niche market, so they do what they can to extend the releases of its DVDs. With Dragonball, you're reaching the same fans but only those who want "the whole story of Z," so they can't afford to screw around with so many eps. It's the same with GT, but GT only has 64 episodes, so they can take that risk.

Though I'm by no means saying DB and GT don't have their own fanbases, it's obviously by no means equal or superior to Z's.
