I'm also very into voice acting. I have it as a hobby, currently. Unfortunately, my inconvenient location makes it impossible to get any experience anytime soon.

FINALLY!! And you say Blu-Ray? How about the initial kai series, will that go Blu too? What about Battle of Gods :(?
Cold Skin wrote:Okay, so this falls a little flat after the reveal of the 2015 movie, but one of the voice actors has announced the news.
We owe this discovery to Dr.Murow!, one of the big bosses of the French forum http://www.db-z.com who is in contact with the very friendly Brigitte Lecordier (voice actor for Kid Goku, Kid Gohan, Kid Goten and C-18) via her Facebook account.

The Boo saga is being dubbed since June.
While it is not stated, there's every reason for it to be the international version named as Dragon Ball Z Kai - The Final Chapters as opposed to the on-going Japanese production of the Dragon Ball Kai Majin Boo arc.

While Brigitte Lecordier used to voice Kid Goku, Kid Gohan, Kid Goten, Kid Trunks, C-18, Videl and Kaio Shin back in Dragon Ball Z, several of her roles have been given to other voice actors instead, and she will only keep Kid Goten and C-18 in the new saga (roles that she had to keep because she is most famous and amazing for the roles of the kids from the Son family, and had previously dubbed C-18 in the Kai Cell saga), while Videl, Kid Trunks and Kaio Shin will have other voice actors still unknown for now, probably for the sake of diversity despite Brigitte's talent to modulate her voice.

It might not be official, but we can be 110% sure it's true knowing her.

^ No news about Battle of Gods.
But Kai will entirely be released on Blu-Ray, since Toei's official site has confirmed Kazé has acquired all 167 episodes.

So they will re-release the Freezer and Cell sagas on Blu-Ray (and maybe on DVD as well despite the fact that DVDs already exist for those sagas, but maybe they want their own DVDs to be for sale), and release the international version of the new Boo saga on Blu-Ray and DVD.

For now, all that's been OFFICIALLY announced is:
- "Kazé has French rights to all 167 episodes of Dragon Ball Z Kai for DVDs" from Toei's website (they may include Blu-rays in the notion of "DVDs").
- "Dragon Ball Z Kai French Blu-rays available in september ("à la rentrée" in French, to be specific)" from Kazé's twitter.

If you join those two official announcements, yes, we will have ALL of Dragon Ball Z Kai on Blu-ray discs!! 8)

^ Wanna know what I think about Battle of Gods?

They'll do the dub right at the end of the Boo arc, as if it was the final episode.
The occasion's too good: they've got all voice actors from the Boo arc in their studio, at the end they're going to say "stick around for two more days, we've got one final thing to dub that's just in the continuity of what you just voiced".

Then, perfect selling plan: Blu-rays for Freezer, for Cell, for Boo and BOOM! - Blu-ray for Battle of Gods to conclude the HD story with the all-new continuation. 8)

But that will remain secret, of course, they won't tell us until the time comes.

Hmm, perfect selling plan would be to get Kai on a non paying TV channel to get more exposure than it's gotten. Regarding Battle of Gods, I'm actually thinking about flying to France to go see it at the movies, lol. I'd go see it both subbed and dubbed. I remember One Piece was on subbed and dubbed.

Can't agree more about this...watching Dragon Ball Kai on D17 (or Gulli...why not after all  ) would be awesome...among French fanbase, many expected to watch Kai on this channel, but nothing happens. It's therefore not surprising to see a lot of DB fans completely unaware of Kai.

^ Yeah, D17 is the main problem here: for some reason, despite Kai's presence, they're still stuck on Z.
Maybe they didn't want a story that ended before Boo, since when they air Z, it's pretty much from Raditz to the end of Boo.

I have a feeling that having Blu-ray released for all of Kai's sagas might give a new chance for D17 to pick it up, since this time, they'll be able to go to the end of the story, including new music to appeal to the audience (cause they might be afraid that with the Kikuchi score, someone who happens to see an extract of Kai will ultimately not see that it's not Z - voices sound the same, music sound the same, you don't always see a moment where the new translation or filler-free content will strike you - and just move on to another channel thinking it's good-old Z, while the Boo arc's music will immediately strike the audience as "oh?! There's something unusual here. Is it a different version?").

^ Hmm, but we don't know how much we're going to wait for this.
We know that Kai Blu-ray releases will start around September, but they might not give it all at once: they may give us the Freezer saga first, then a few months later the Cell saga, then a few months later the Boo saga.

Plus, if it's like previous DVD releases, the Boo saga will be aired on TV even before the DVD/Blu-ray release, almost as soon as the dub is complete.

Finally, we don't know if Toei will not prevent the releases for all countries as long as they're not done airing the Boo arc in Japan next year.
See, the last thing they might want is for Japanese people to be able to import the whole saga (available with the Japanese dub on the discs), with even more episodes through the international version, before the show has even reached the end in Japan! That would make less people in front of the TV and less of their own domestic disc sales. Plus, to make it even simpler for them to import and enjoy our discs, France and Japan share the same DVD region if I'm not mistaken, so our DVD packs would be fully compatible with their devices just as if they had bought Japanese discs! Instead of having to wait for the TV show to air every Sunday and for Blu-rays to be available, they could see it all instantly with what some would consider "the ultimate version" and stop caring about the Japanese airing and releases altogether!

So, as pessimistic as it might sound, I have a feeling that Toei will not let other countries make their dub available for sale before they do the same in Japan. They might allow them to air their dub on TV (and maybe only some of them, and maybe only if they don't go beyond the latest episode aired in Japan), but probably won't let them put the DVDs and Blu-rays for sale!

But maybe I'm wrong, maybe I'm ungratefully considering Toei as more of control freaks than they actually are! :)
Some people around might know better than me if Toei has been permissive with other countries in the past, allowing them to give things before Japan even could.

Who knows how things could turn out? Then again, the International Version doesn't feature the same theme songs as the Japanese TV version. Wouldn't that be slightly off-putting to fans in Japan?

I guess the new DBZ movie is the reason this still isn't on the main page? Oh well.

It might be because we don't have enough information yet, not enough to make a complete news article.
All that we know is that France is recording the Kai Majin Boo arc dub, and that French Blu-rays are officially coming around September for the first time in the franchise thanks to the Kai series, with rights obtained for all 167 episodes for that new Kazé release.

But we don't have the covers, we don't have the specific release dates, and we don't have the specifications (aspect ratio, etc...).
We just have the announcements that all of it is coming, but we don't have any clue as to what it will look like, hence the fact that Kanzenshuu will probably wait to have more info on this before showing the news on the main page, rather than writing "this is coming, and we don't know anything about it yet".

I think we have to gather more information for now, keeping an eye on everything for more info.
