Crushed blacks make it harder to see. If it's harder to see it is not high-definition.

I guess Movie 1 still has the English title & credits when playing it in Japanese?

Japanese should have all japanese title cards and credits. I did notices switching can be tricky as I just found out english has english credits and title cards (the last few times I switched between the two the text didnt)

Yeah... that isn't what it means. You can get into what you WANT it to mean, but that's a different argument.

Has Japanese title and ending credits, opening is still creditless (presumably because the Japanese-credited opening isn't 4:3-safe. Watch this to see what I mean).

It's sad when a streamed version is more complete than the DVD release. Wow, Makafushigi Adventure with the Portuguese dub. From what little I understood from the description it's the first time this has happened with the Portuguese dub? Was this dubbed back in the 90's or is this a brand new dub? My Movie 2 DVD from 2005 has that same problem with its opening. I guess it's safe to assume Movie 2's End Credits & Movie 3's title card are in Japanese when played in Japanese as well.

They've always kept Makafushigi Adventure and Romantic Ageru Yo in movie 1, for some reason. The other movies replace them with the dub opening song.

And yes, the other movies have the Japanese title cards and end credits too. Movie 3 has the opening credits too (but then again even the dub has those).

Are you sure you're not talking about Movie 2 there? These are the stats for the movies on DVD.

Movie 1
-English OP
-English ED
-English Title Card
-English End Credits
-Kanji removed from OP

Movie 2
-Japanese OP
-Japanese ED
-Japanese Title Card
-English End Credits
-Kani removed from OP

Movie 3
-English OP
-Japanese ED (Dragon Ball Densetsu, not the usual)
-English Title Card
-Kanji kept in both OP and ED, with no English Credits to be seen

Movie 4
-Japanese ED (DAN DAN)
-English Title Card
-Kanji kept in beginning of movie and ED, no English credits to be seen

So, if I've understood this correctly, the streams are actually different?

Umm... that's exactly what I said. The Japanese credits are intact in Movie 3 and 4 even in the dub.

Oh, that. I wasn't talking about the English dub there. I was replying to this:

Portuguese Movie 1 has always had the Japanese songs untouched. Every other movie replaced them with the dub opening.

I do remember that Movie 12 had the instrumental beginning of We Gotta Power which then segued into the PT opening which was corny. Didn't DB Movie 3 leave in Dragon Ball Densetsu? I think Z Movie 13 started off with the PT song, but after that song ended it went into the original ending. I could be wrong though.
