Dragonball Z.
Dragonball Z for me is even better than the new animation we see in the films today, i'm not a fan of this new style.
Which of the 3 shows had the best animation?

Dragon Ball Z had the most fluid moments of animation (Cell vs Goku and Kid Buu come to mind).
GT had some excellent looking episodes but nothing matching that level.

Z overall had the best animation. It also had some of the worst to be fair (studio Live, I'm looking at you). Dragon ball had great moments, but not enough to beat out Z. GT had great moments too, but same deal like with Dragon Ball.
Sorry the last one is so small lol.

While I now prefer the previous Dragon Ball arcs, the animation was a big reason why I probably preferred the Cell and Boo arcs originally. The Goku vs Majin Vegeta fight was so beautifully animated that I didn't care about the quality of writing. That's changed since I've read/watched the series so many times, but that's the reason why I consider Dragon Ball Z having the best animation. Dragon Ball was more consistent though! GT? Who cares? I'm just kidding!

I'm not entirely sure who did the key animation for the scene of Gokuu fighting Vegeta in Dragon Ball Z Episode #232 is. I've always assumed it was Animation Supervisor Yamamuro Tadayoshi himself given how some of the faces looked similar to his style, but Yamamuro's never anything like that, since. It is interesting to note that the episode director for both #232 and #279 is Yama'uchi Shigeyasu. Yama'uchi went on to become a superb director in the 2000s with Ojamajo Doremi # and other series.
