If it's past, then I always chose Leonardo DiCaprio as Trunks, he's too old now.

Jackie Chan in his prime could have made a great Goku. Jet Li would obviously have to be Vegeta. Never thought of other characters, that's up to y'all lol.

If any martial artist should play Goku, it should be Donnie Yen.DarkPrince_92 wrote:Jackie Chan in his prime could have made a great Goku. Jet Li would obviously have to be Vegeta. Never thought of other characters, that's up to y'all lol.

I can see that too. I only say Chan because in a lot of his movies I can see him easily capturing Goku's character. Even in movies like Rush Hour.

If a halfway decent DBZ movie was ever made, I think it would be better to go the same route they did with almost all of the Superman movies, Batman Begins and even Sam Raimi's Spiderman trilogy by casting a relatively unproven actor in the role of Goku, as opposed to someone with a bigger name. You can surround him with a big cast, but it's important to avoid the perception of "Oh, that's just Joseph Gordon-Levitt playing Goku." It helps with suspension of disbelief, IMO.
I'd like to see a trilogy with Piccolo as the villain of the first film, Vegeta and the Saiyans in the sequel which all leads to Freeza being the big bad to close out the trilogy. Vegeta and Piccolo would reform over the course of each film. The tone would be along the lines of Guardians of the Galaxy.
Casting would be something like:
Unknown Japanese actor as Goku, Idris Elba as Piccolo, Anna Kendrick as Bulma, Tom Hardy as Vegeta, Ken Watanabe as Roshi, Dave Bautista as Nappa and Rila Fukushima as Chi-Chi.
There are others of course. I have no idea who you cast for Krillin, although I can't imagine a decent Dragonball film without him.
