Were there ever any fandubs of DBZ?

Both the original Planet to Eradicate the Saiyans and Son Goku & His Friends Return had fan dubs from what I can remember.

I've seen many attempts at fan dubs pop up over the years, so they are out there, but I couldn't give you any names as I was never really interested in them enough to take note.

I was in a group trying to fandub DBGT in 1999. Sadly we never managed to finish episode 1. We had some awesome va's, though.

If you're talking about Trixen's dub, we did actually finish it. Part three was edited by me and uploaded to DragonFlick Z as this was during the peak of the Toei Youtube fiasco. I'm sure I still have all three parts somewhere if anyone really want to see it.

I do them, but usually just clip dubs. I'm alsp Freeza an Kuririn in OmegaRockman's projects. I usually adapt much closer to the original Japanese version/pronunciations or adapt the terms based on the translation.

There was a fandub for DBZ Movie 6 that dates back to the pre-dub years (circa '94/'95-ish roughly?), but I haven't seen it resurface anywhere online since probably the late 90s/early-most 2000s (back in the heyday of when RealPlayer and Quicktime were by far the most cutting edge way to view videos online).

It wasn't terribly great to put it mildly nor was it particularly well liked in general at the time, but it was good for a hoot I guess: Vegeta's ridiculously bombastic voice is the only voice from it I really remember all that well, and it got some of the biggest laughs from most people who saw this thing. Like most fan dubs in those days (early to mid 90s), it mostly got passed around on random VHS mixes* for what used to be the sheer novelty of seeing characters speaking any English at all in an anime no one generally expected would ever get officially dubbed (in Dragon Ball Z's case, outside of the Philippines anyway).

*A good random anime mix tape is certainly one of those fun things that's been completely lost to the digital age: nothing like getting completely caught off guard by some of the bizarre oddities you'd find on those. Plus those were the origins of some of the very first ever AMVs!

I remember Ramza music video "Am I Evil?" with Vegeta, it used to hold the record for the longest DBZ AMV of all time. He included it on a fansub, I think the OVA one?

Sorry I had completely forgotten about this. I'll check for them this weekend when I'm back, I don't think the video quality is great though.

I'm aware that this has no chance of ever happening, but I've always wondered what it would be like if Team Four Star actually did a proper unabridged dub of DBZ (maybe even DB/GT as well) I imagine it would probably be the most faithful to the original, more so than any of the official dubs at least
