It's saddening to see how the DB characters are used like nothing but pawns in the game these days.

Well, it's not really the characters being used as pawns, it's their video game representations being used as pawns.... at least that's the idea behind Heroes, I'm not certain about the story behind this discross game.

I don't really know how this series handles it, but I don't mind the Heroes Victory Mission approach. It doesn't reduce them to only being fictional characters in that universe. The DB characters were real. They existed. The arcade game is basically their version of the reenactment games we have in the real world (WWII shooter, the yearly sports stuff, etc).
