Final Cover to the german Limited Collectors Edition to Battle of Gods (includes the DVD & Blu-Ray Extended Cut Version as well as Post-Cards & Booklet)
ImageImage

Also the final Cover to the Normal DVD & Blu-Rays is available - kinda funny that the DVD Cover says "With the Original-Voiceactors" so everyone knows instantly that Universum Anime did somethin another german Anime-Company wasn't able to do ;)

Also: Via Facebook Universum announced that they are currently editing the german Trailer for the Movie and that Fans can look forward to it's premiere next week :)

Well, one thing I have consistently noticed about the Battle of Gods dubs is this: a lot of fans seem to be saying, "Wow, this dub is very good, the actors did a much better job here than they did in the TV series!" It seems like there's a lot of care being taken with the dubs of this movie, both in terms of script adaptation and in terms of the acting. It also doesn't hurt that the actors have more experience, having played these characters for a while already.

I've heard that about the English dub, the Brazilian Portuguese dub, the French dub, the European Spanish dub...so, who knows, maybe the German dub actors will be much better this time around.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

its not really how good they are, but the voices. i own the series in english cause i dont like the german voices for DBZ, i understand everything in english so i prefer the eng dub, except sometimes in the english dub they have dialects that are very hard to understand for me. for example in the buu saga the jerk who shot buu's dog.

Do you know when the german dub will be avaliable on internet?

About the brazilian portuguese dub I didn't had see that. The scene when Goku and Beerus fight over the sky was incredibly well done. The voice direction was amazing in that scene, but at all the final result of the dub was not so different of the brazilian dub of the original TV series, in terms of quality. Actually the brazilian fans were happy because BOG had a much better dub than brazilian Kai(that was a lame, with sound mixing errors and a half of the cast changed), but the comparison was not so with the original TV series brazilian dub, that was excellent.

Also the european spanish dub has a much better script than the original EU. spanish dub, but the acting, mixing and other aspects were awful. It's a bit far to be an excellent dub of Battle of Gods.

In french dub the fans were more happy with Kai dub than with Battle of Gods dub for what I saw. French Battle of Gods was not bad, but was not the best version. Anyway, both BOG AND Kai's french dubs were much far better than the original french dub for the original series. With no comparison. The scripts, the acting, everything was better. But that was not so hard to be.

By the way, I'm very curious to see how the german dub will be like. It'll be probably very good.

I'm a fan of the french dub, and I've seen Battle of Gods dubbed in french twice, and the only thing that's less good in Battle of Gods is that Legrand does less screams himself - but the reason for this was that his vocal cords got fucked in Kai right before from screaming too much. So honestly, no, I don't really think Battle of Gods is less good than the Boo saga Kai. It's pretty much similar with the script maybe being just a bit better for Battle of Gods. Where did you "see" this, SaintEvolution? Your personal opinion?

Well, I didn't say that french BOG was bad. It was good, but no so good as Kai, and one of the reasons was that(Legrand's no screaming, that is fair, but have a bad consequence to the final result), actually, I think just think that the action scenes in the french dub were so well did as in the japanese version - and that is not a very good thing - . When I compare that with french Kai, I see a difference. Not much big, but one that is possible to see.

Other thing is the voice in general, specially some characters as Krillin, and the new ones(Beerus and Whiz). They didn't sound bad, but...for example, Beerus just sounds pretty normal. Doesn't sounds strange like a cat, as Kouichi Yamadera did for example(actually, most of the dubs did used not so good voices for Bills; Only in japanese, european spanish, brazilian, tagalog and mandarin he sounded nice).

Commenting on voices sounding nice or not is a subjetive thing, and here I disagree with you again. Beerus sounds great in French, I'd say.

Actually, we can avaliable if a voice is good.

Beerus has a lot of silly and strange voices, and his voice can easily became more silly or more deep/serious in a question of seconds. French Beerus could be very good in the serious moments, but not so in the silly ones. I'm not saying that french Beerus is a bad Beerus. Just not the best one.

Youtube version here

So happy to hear them all again. And they all sound almost, if not exactly, the same as a decade ago.

Here's a behind-the-scenes video of someone dubbing the Sushi salesman for the German dub of Battle of Gods. If you're like me, and love watching behind-the-scenes footage (and learning about the various dubbing processes around the world), then this is kind of cool!

Got the movie right now.

I cannot believe the guy who wrote the cover wrote Saiyajin wrong.

My apologies if this counts as necro-posting, but now that the dub has been out, I'm curious to know the reaction of German fans: is the dub good? What about the writing, the acting, etc.?
