I find it amusing, how some people didn't like the new DB stuff, so they are projecting their mindset into statements like: ''But even if Evolution made him to return to the series, the new things sucks, so that's not a valid point.''
Yeah, maybe for you, but I find the new stuff since the Yo! Son Goku blah blah etc. marvelous and that is what I was waiting for since GT ended in TV.
Like who could do better job than Toriyama? *glares at GT and TOEI movies* !%@&#!, please.

Yoshihiro Togashi, Hajime Isayama, Eichiro Oda, Tite Kubo(just to expand on DB's dark nature, I don't think Bleach's a masterpieve), Masashi Kishimoto(somewhat).MCDaveG wrote: Like who could do better job than Toriyama? .
Those artists(maybe except Isayama) are fans of the series, plus they're very consistent when it comes to their stories, while the current Toriyama isn't anymore.
Akira Toriyama wrote:If anyone. ANYONE AT TOEI! Makes a movie about old and weak major villains returning, or making recolored versions of Super Saiyan, I'ma come to yo company and evict you from doing Dragon Ball ever again! Only I do those things, because people love me, and they despise you....derp!

Toei, apparently. Movie 6 was better than Movie 15.MCDaveG wrote:Like who could do better job than Toriyama?

Great writer but it takes him way to long to get things done.EXBadguy wrote: Yoshihiro Togashi

I've seen One Piece till the end of Skypiea and here's why he shouldn't write DB :
Spoiler:
Naruto is the closest to DB so if I had to pick I'd go with Kishimoto.

I wouldn't want Kubo or Kishimoto anywhere near my Dragon Ball; they're both terrible writers far more inconsistent than Toriyama has ever been, Christ.

Agree'd. No one understands the characters better then Toriyama. I have been a fan my entire life, yet I could never write the way he does especially the characters. The plot's may not be grandiose as some people would like, but tbh plot only comes second the characters.Zenkai wrote:He's doing an excellent job with DB. BOG was the best movie yet, and I'm looking forward to seeing RF. Perhaps it will even surpass BOG.

Yoshihiro Togashi - I think he could do a good job with story and battles but he wouldn't really understand the charactersEXBadguy wrote:Yoshihiro Togashi, Hajime Isayama, Eichiro Oda, Tite Kubo(just to expand on DB's dark nature, I don't think Bleach's a masterpieve), Masashi Kishimoto(somewhat).MCDaveG wrote: Like who could do better job than Toriyama? .

Hajime Isayama - Dragon Ball would be way too dark and way too hopeless for too long
Eichiro Oda - The story would never end and would progress very slowly.
Tite Kubo - Just not a good writer as a whole, in my opinion. He peaked in Bleach way too early for me.
Masashi Kishimoto - He's more inconsistent with storytelling than Toriyama ever was.
The only shonen manga writer who could do a job as good as Toriyama to me would be Hirohiko Araki. But then again, I don't want anyone to really write Dragon Ball other than Toriyama. He knows the universe and the characters better than anyone.

Nakaba Suzuki's Nanatsu no Taizai is a piece of work very similar to Dragon Ball as a whole, so I'm sure he'd be able to make it work. But yes, I'd prefer Toriyama over anyone else too, no matter how much he has forgotten about the series.

The basic idea is simple, and I'm sure there are countless fan fictions where Freeza comes back, but I doubt any "yahoo" is going to get the character interactions and personalities just right, only Toriyama can do that... and IMO, bringing back Freeza was an obvious choice for reviving the series because he is Dragon Ball's most iconic villain, and the Freeza arc was the most popular part of Dragon Ball. Other series bring back their most popular villains again and again, like the Joker in Batman, so it's not unusual, and I really don't see a problem with it.Rocketman wrote:If he wants to prove he's the only one who can do DB right, he's doing a shitty job of it. ROFL could be from any yahoo on fanfiction.net.

Other then that Freeza didn't get the end he deserved in the manga so bringing him back to give him a proper ending is more then enough to justify his return.UpFromTheSkies wrote:Bringing back Freeza was an obvious choice for reviving the series because he is Dragon Ball's most iconic villain.
Plus getting to see Vegeta stomp him down to the ground was way overdue.
