Oh... That's a bit awkward... The composer you hire to replace a plagiarizer turns out to also be a plagiarizer? Is that when you just give up and get Yamamoto back on board to just rearrange the original Kikuchi score? I mean, he's at least a fantastic arranger. You gotta give him that much at least. And the man knows Dragon Ball; He's been involved with more Dragon Ball songs than any other person.Tobi555 wrote:From Kai

That's what I'm saying I didn't want to really point it out for fear that we'd have to experience yet another scandal that would hold a dub back had word gotten around but I couldn't resist posting it its literally the same song.

Isn't Japan known for plagiarism?
I'm not defending Yamamoto, but you'd be surprised how many other composers and arrangers in Japan have ripped off others.
The music from Sonic the Hedgehog has got to be the most blatantly obvious.

I wouldn't run around screaming plagiariser just yet. A couple of fairly generic songs may be coincidental. Once you start seeing the frequency of similarities we saw with Yamamoto, then you should start panicking. For right now, I don't see any of this as damning evidence.

Yeah, composers in Japan, for all types of media, tend you uses brief samples of other songs for their own arrangements or scores. It's just that Yamamoto went overboard and got caught.DB1984 wrote:Isn't Japan known for plagiarism?

This really isn't a sound argument. You're making assumptions that have no evidence to back them up. Toei is incompetent with things like this, that much we know. The evidence should speak for itself, and as things stand, several tracks so far sound plagiarized.Naruto6583 wrote:This is what I stated before I mean why would toei risk the chance of having another artist that infringed and go through all that crap again? I'm pretty sure they checked him out before kai and if he had infringed someone else would've composed for kai, bog, fnf, super etc.TheRed259 wrote:You guys should chill out. After Yamamoto, you think that everyone is stealing music.
Most Dragon Ball fans are incapable of making a logically sound argument.

Actually, neither of them are songs. A song, by definition, contains singing.Tobi555 wrote:
