Anyways, while I've yet to start writing I guess I'll add another possible theme to the mix. How about "frustration?"

Can I still enter? If so, I'm in, and my theme suggestion is "Artifacts"

There should be a witty quote or something down here. I'm just not imaginative enough to come up with anything.

How about training as a theme?
This will never not be my sig:

I can't believe this is on-topic.

A few hours for sign up to close. Get in while you can!
If this stays with 9 contestants, one off the matches while have to be between 3 people. There's no reason to make people wait a round while we eliminate the 9th person.
So imagining the Budokai structure it would be like so:
----------------------------------------Final
-----------Semi 1------------------------------------------------Semi 2
1 vs 2----------------3 vs 4--------------------------5 vs 6----------------7 vs 8 vs 9
I will make the draw just like in the series with little papers. For the theme I'll use a online tool to randomly select one of the suggestions.
Those who haven't submitted your theme, hurry!

Can you submit a theme even if you're not participating?
Cool stuff that I upload here because Youtube will copyright claim it: https://vimeo.com/user60967147
Re: 1st Kanzenshuu Short Story - Tenkaichi Budokai
I guess we could get a "spectator" theme. But only if the contestants accept it, otherwise it's rejected.Polyphase Avatron wrote:Can you submit a theme even if you're not participating?

And now live is the Tenkaichi Budokai draw with Mr Announcer!!!!
First we have the theme drawing, our lovely co-presenter will now input them in the random picker... She doesn't need presentation but a round of applause for Lunch!!! Clap clap clap clap... Let's hope she doesn't sneeze.
And the winner is "Artifacts" suggested by DragonDuck!
Whisper whisper, "that's gonna be tough" whisper.
Next, we have the drawing of the Quarter-Finals matches. Lunch, you're hair is still blue... Yes, let's proceed!
First we have LightBing, a very handsome fellow if I might say myself. And the number is 2!
Next we have SSJ God Gogeta, know by some as the avatar King! And the number is 1!
We have our first match!
Gyt Kaliba if you could. Number 9, he'll participate in the 3 people match!
Sun-Wukong please hurry, there's a draft, Lunch might sneeze, our lives are in danger! Cough, cough number 3!
jcogginsa appears doing the moon walk?! The chosen number is 5!
Rocketman grabs the microphone and starts to sing We are the Champions before taking number 8!
Kamiccolo9 walks slowly glowing in his 50 grand suit. Number 4! He'll face Sun-Wukong.
dae428 dashes to the stage, his long hair touches Lunch's nose who sneezes and starts shooting everybody, daei428 is able to take the number 6, in the midst of chaos.
After Lunch's tornado the ceremony was closed. DragonDuck wasn't able to take his number but we know that it's the 7.
Quarter Finals:
Theme: Artifacts
Match 1
SSJ God Gogeta vs LighBing
Match 2
Sun-Wukong vs Kamiccolo9
Match 3
jcogginsa vs dae428
Match 4
Dragon Duck vs Rocketman vs Gyt Kaliba
I'll update the opening thread in a few hours! Get ready! It starts officially tomorrow.
Edit: Does anyone know the character limit for a post?

Oh man, talk about luck of the draw...a theme I'm not 100% sure what to do with just yet, and I'm in the three person match.
Guess I'd better get started thinking here.

So....when and where do we post these things, and is it okay to go somewhat over the word count?

It really is one of the hardest themes, I was kinda hoping for my own or yours. I had some comedy in mind. From the rules:Kamiccolo9 wrote:So....when and where do we post these things, and is it okay to go somewhat over the word count?
"A round begins 12 hours after I post the respective thread.(I'll give at least day notice in this thread)". You can send it to me by pm or post the story in the new thread. I'll have them organized at the top to be easier to follow and vote.
"Between 150 and 750 words per story.(This is flexible but try not to abuse it)".
I'm gonna update the opening thread now.

Oh, wow … my theme was chosen? I … didn't expect that, actually. The theme just sorta flashed into my mind … huh.
A quick question, does each round correspond to a story, meaning that that round's contestants have five days to write a story after the previous round? (If that makes sense)

I don't know if this answers your question but, when this round starts everyone has 5 days to write it , afterwards 5 days of voting were we just wait for the votes. After the last 5 days passed, the winners of each match face each other in the semi's repeating the process.DragonDuck wrote:Oh, wow … my theme was chosen? I … didn't expect that, actually. Ah, okay, thanks. So, should every match be included in the stories – or is each match a round?LightBing wrote:I don't know if this answers your question but, when this round starts everyone has 5 days to write it , afterwards 5 days of voting were we just wait for the votes. Well, for example, do we get five days to write just the match between you and SSJ God Gogeta, or do we get five days to write all the matches in one story?LightBing wrote:Sorry, I don't quite get what your asking.DragonDuck wrote: Ah, okay, thanks. Re: 1st Kanzenshuu Short Story - Tenkaichi Budokai
You've misunderstood the premise. Each contestant writes a story about whatever they want based on the theme. Then the story's are pitted against each other like my story vs SSJ God Gogeta story and the one with more votes advances to the next phase. I just used the model of the Tenkaichi Budokai. It's all in the opening post.DragonDuck wrote:Well, for example, do we get five days to write just the match between you and SSJ God Gogeta, or do we get five days to write all the matches in one story?LightBing wrote:Sorry, I don't quite get what your asking.DragonDuck wrote: Ah, okay, thanks. Okay, huge mistake on my part! Thanks a lot for explaining. So, it goes like this:LightBing wrote:You've misunderstood the premise. Contestants write stories based on theme – 5-day limit
People vote – 5-day limit
(Repeat!)
Is that correct?

Correct. When I open the Quarter Finals thread twelve hours after(so that I don't have advantage against those that don't see it soon) the 5 day limit starts counting.DragonDuck wrote:Okay, huge mistake on my part!
