How could the series possibly go back to how it was?

I'm willing to bet only Goku and Vegeta go to Univere 6....maybe Gohan if we're lucky. I'm willing to bet the entire rest of the cast will stay behind on Earth and generally not appear much for the rest of the series.

I get the feeling Battle of Gods and Ressurection of F was meant to be a fond farewell for most of the older cast besides Goku and Vegeta.

I'm banking on Goku, Vegeta, Beerus, Whis and Piccolo personally. If the Super Dragon Balls are a part of universe 6, then there's no way they can omit Piccolo from all of that.

The only way to do a pure adventurous version of DB anymore is ditch the established cast from the main character spots and give it to Uub & Pan's generation. The older characters I feel are so ingrained into the Z style its pretty hard for me to imagine them going on anything but Z type story lines at this point. With a younger generation who are coming into their own you could get away with it easier. Even establish the earlier adventure type stories as the starting point for every proceeding generation then go into the Z fighting oriented style later on in their lives.

But I doubt DB is ever going to do anything post the manga again so there's no chance of any of this coming to pass. At least not until everyones boner for the 10 year, in-between gap over at Toei & Toriyama dies down if it ever does.

I want them to bring Piccolo along. Piccolo's one of a handful of characters that Gokû bounces off of really well (the others imo being Bulma and Kaio-sama) dialogue-wise.

Gohan would be a waste of time. He doesn't want to fight or train and it isn't like he has any interesting combat abilities or personality, either.

I kind of doubt #18 will travel to Universe Six, although I wish she would. After the Golden Freeza arc had Kuririn trying to regain his mojo I can't see him being left out of the action, again. I also doubt having his wife tag along would be seen as fitting that mold, too.

I'm thinking Gokuu, Vegeta, Piccolo, Kuririn, Tenshinhan and maybe Goten and Trunks will go to Universe Six. Supposing one counts Goten and Trunks as one it would also mean having 'six' combatants, assuming we get six foes for them to fight.
