Yes, this has been discussed for days now in the appropriate places. There has (obviously) been no sign of such a rename occurring in the anime since they aren't there yet, but all merchandise is still using the name Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. So, for the time being, this only applies to Toyotaro's Super manga.

Possibly to save speech bubble space? If that's the only reason, the anime would have no need to do so. Saying Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan each time would just be natural padding for the episodes.

Yeah, my first thought was that Toyotarou just didn't want to write out the whole thing each time, though I hadn't considered that it might just take up too much space.

I definitely wouldn't call it an official renaming until it starts appearing elsewhere. The manga isn't even the primary version of Super.

SHF Bluper Vegeta just went up for preorder last week and he's still labeled SSGSS. Bandai also seems to be branding him as Super, while Bluper Gokuu was branded RF.

I don't like it. But I don't dislike it either. I prefer it over Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan. Very simple and works. I just wish they renamed Super Saiyan God to Super Saiyan Red. You know, for consistency. Then again, SSJG tends to be magenta at times...O_o

Even better, SSJG should have been Super Saiyan God Red and SSGSS should have been Super Saiyan God Blue. Whoo hoo.

It should have been Saiyan God, and Super Saiyan God, I was always baffled at red being called SSG even though its in Goku's base form, and doesn't favor super saiyan at all. I've felt this way since SSGSS, though I agree with Lord beerus on the fact that BOG was supposed to be a one time thing, but it blew up and Toei seen dollar signs. I think Mr. krabs runs Toei, someone should look into that and investigate it. >.>

Chozenshuu #1 teased more adventures coming, Chozenshuu #2 teased more stories coming, and BoG itself teased more by keeping Beerus stronger than Goku, revealing Whis to be even stronger, but without revealing what exactly he is, and it revealed the other universes' existence that probably have even stronger guys. This isn't how you end a series, this is how you prepare it for its comeback. Well in the movie they never referred to it SSGSS at all so I think it is Toyotaro messing about. Besides they've already marked the merch as SSGSS but we'll probably found it in the anime.

Ever since the premise of Battle of Gods, I've felt that my favorite show has gone down the toilet. None of the villains look menacing, there are too many inconsistancies, and the transformations look lame. At least with Revival of Freeza, they had the decency to make him Godly with some dopey transformation (which doesn't even make sense or look any different than his final form). It's bad enough that they can't be original, but the constant milking really gets old.

Not exactly. The manga teased the next generation (Oob & Pan), along with more adventures for the future, but it made it clear that we wouldn't see them, similarly to how GT ended with Goku Jr. This isn't what they did with BoG & the Chozenshuu. BoG introduced new plot-points, and also left unanswered questions, and the Chozenshuu directly teased more stories twice.

Honestly though, if you take a look at the production of the new content following BOG, it's just so apparent that Toei were looking to get as much new DB content out there as soon as possible to strike while the iron was hot. I mean, Toei have always had production problems with anime projects for God knows how many years, but even by Dragon Ball's standards, the haphazard production of the content post-BOG is truly remarkable. Resurrection F was storyboarded in just one month. And Dragon Ball Super... holy shit. What a rollercoaster that show has been. I mean, it was set to premier only three months after it was officially announced for crying out loud. That show was so rushed out of the gate without any long term planning just to capitalize on Dragon Ball's resurgence in popularity worldwide.

Final name or not, I cannot object, both because the God naming scheme was broken from the start and that "Blue" strikes me as coming from the same spontaneous logic as adding numbers to the end of a transformation.

To a certain extent, yes. But at least their ideas didn't get to the point where Goku had blue hair He literally looks like a blueberry. I cannot take this stuff seriously. The show ended for me a long time ago.

As for the new name, it's very unoriginal and fanficy, but, as has been stated before it's a vast improvement over the god (pun intended) awful previous name (but that's not saying a lot).

If this is official then I do not like it, SSGSS literally describes what the transformation is, by renaming it to SSB it loses that. SSG and SSGSS are new lines of Saiyan transformations I feel like they need to include God in there somewhere to distinguish it form the regular SS transformations and SSB does not do that. It is like if they called Super Saiyan 1, Super Oozaru or something.
