Bulma still had a thing for Yamcha. Look at the way she reacts when he dies against the Saibaman as well as crying on the air-ship when they realize Earth's dragonballs are gone. Also her reaction when Yamcha comes back to life at the end of the Freeza saga.

That would be the 25th, the one that took place during the Buu Arc and yes I do think Gohan said that, but I'm not sure.

Yamcha doesn't like to fight and get killed. He doesn't have the heart of krillin , tien or satan, neither is he anywhere close to saiyans or piccolo in power and skill.

I feel bad for Yamcha. I mean, not only did you humiliate yourself in Dragonball during the tournament Arcs by never getting past the semi-final, not only did you get killed by a Saibaman, not only does your girlfriend of many years dump you for a man that is indirectly the reason for your death, not only do you train 3 whole years only to have a near death experience by getting a hole through your chest and never even throwing a punch, not only do you get turned into chocolate by Buu, but you also become such a background character that your presence isn't even acknowledged.

Even now in Super, Yamcha's role is about as important and relevant as Yajirobe, Mr. Popo, and Korin. Yeah, those guys never even appeared in Super but Yamcha has. That statement says it all.
