I wish we had gotten to see Vegeta in SSG form…
Still sad about not getting magenta kawaii Vegeta.

I genuinely wish they'd just left Super Saiyan alone at SSJ3.

That depends on what context we're talking about. Like Pocket-God, I would have preferred if we didn't have either of the Super Saiyan God forms, or BoG/RF/Super in their current forms. But in the context of everything else staying, I disagree with it being removed.
I have no love for the form, but I do feel having the ritual's temporary form be separate from the permanent form Goku and Vegeta get is a good idea. I much prefer the set up of needing to find a different way to reach that power, instead of being able to continuously call upon the ritual or keep the same transformation after doing it once.
My problem is that Super Saiyan God ended up becoming so pointless. I don't mind if the form never appeared again, but what bugs me is that now it seems apparent that the form, and the ritual, weren't necessary to achieve Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan in the first place. Vegeta doesn't appear to have ever become a Super Saiyan God, and the power boost Goku got for it only lasted for 6 months until Vegeta's training put him on the same level. I would have definitely preferred if absorbing the power of Super Saiyan God was necessary to be able to achieve Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan, so the whole thing didn't feel like a waste of time. That way, as long as SSGSS is relevant, the original ritual and form are still relevant in a way.
Blue is Goku using Super Saiyan to go God form. While I don't like this God stuff, I do like the idea of Goku's Super Saiyan form being used to draw out the Godly power now that he no longer needs to become a regular Super Saiyan 1, 2 or 3.

Is that a rhetorical question?precita wrote:For example in the Beerus movie Goku should have went straight to the blue-haired Super Saiyan God, and then red form should have never existed. The red hair always looked very strange especially with the eyes and since it doesn't seem like Goku will ever use the red-hair God form anymore it was a complete waste. As we see Vegeta skipped that form too to go straight to the blue hair.
Anyone else think the red hair was a mistake?
Of course I wish it never existed! The entire concept is ridiculous. The only thing we got was crappy animation and a poor excuse with bonus features. It's bad enough when the producers of a show can't think of something original, but Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan?
They should have left the show alone after DBGT and scrapped the blueberry/strawberry hair idea. I can't believe that the series got to the point where Saiyans become Gods and there's different Super Saiyan levels with being a God. You'd be better off giving him brown hair and calling him Super Saiyan TURD Super Saiyan because that's how I feel about newer material produced today.
Pathetic.

^^ I agree. In my opinion, super Saiyan god form does not make sense at all and is just pointless. Of course back then it was wow moment and seeing something fresh was great but looking back from now, this form was just plot device to put power levels at much bigger stake then it was before. The golden frieza don't needing god ki and fighting on par with god ki character was shoot in foot by Akira or Toei. Also at the same time it created some issues:AnimeMaakuo wrote:Is that a rhetorical question?

- no power level comparision between z and super
- leaving z warriors in dust
- frieza ridiculous power up in short time
- golden frieza don't needing god ki to fight against god kid characters
- vegeta skipping ssg as it was nothing.
- ssg putting goku at 6 in god scale
- multpliers don't work at all while used with ssj form god essence
- too much of gods bullshit
- vegeta and goku training with whis and whis talking about them getting much stronger is stupid because it is hard to put in compare to 10 of beerus
Instead it would be much better if beerus has vision of almighty warrior(not super Saiyan god or at least not yet, so he doesn't know who it would be). After being informed Saiyan beat frieza but also even majin buu, beerus would demand whis to travel to find him. Akira talking about ssj vegito being suprassed by beerus would make much more sense if they actually clashed. If he still want to keep ssj vegito much below beerus then replace ssj3 vegito in place of ssg goku and make them 6 in god scale.
After loosing Whis would suggest to get stronger by yourselves and the only way would be acquiring god ki as the fusion just magically makes it or makes it special case.
In this way, we wouldn't have headache power level comparision and z cast would still hope to catch up while Also all whis comment about goku and vegeta making improvement and being much stronger then before while still being a lot of inferior to beerus would make much more sense. Golden frieza would still be deal but god ki would be gained(possible champa train him as he schemes something against beerus).
Wouldn't it be better ?

Imo, the red transformation was one of the best transformation in the series (visually). Blue is good too but I'd preferred if Goku stayed that way when he transforms into GSS
Re: Does anyone wish the "red" form of SSG never existed?
Some assuming that the SSJ God is nothing elese than the basic form Saiyan with "pure" God Ki.
Re: Does anyone wish the "red" form of SSG never existed?
I like the forms, in fact they arguably look better than the original Super Saiyan.
I just wish they'd handled it better. The Red form should have been called Saiyan God and the Blue form Super Saiyan God. SSGSS is a terrible name but it doesn't particularly matter because they never said it in the movie.
They've just made it all confusing. They hype up SSJG throughout BoG and then it shows up for 5 minutes before he goes back to normal and it turns out he just absorbed it and kept the power.....but then another 5 minutes after that he transforms back into SSJG for some unexplained reason.
At least Super fixed both of those issues.
Then SSJB shows up and no real explanation is given on it and nobody seems to fuly understand it because there's still all these different theories on it.
The Red Saiyan God should have been Goku when he activates God power.
The Blue Super Saiyan God should have been Goku when he activates God power and turns Super Saiyan.
There should have been no absorbing of the power.
Goku being red and Vegeta being blue doesn't seem like a good idea though, too Power Rangery.

Re: Does anyone wish the "red" form of SSG never existed?
I'd rather that "red" (though it's more magenta) form than have a Super Saiyan with blue hair. In the very least, Super Saiyan God was a little more original. I never liked that it made Goku skinnier, but Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is just... terrible and very uncreative.
Re: Does anyone wish the "red" form of SSG never existed?
Yes. Or the blue form never existed. Have only 1 form. Instead SSJ God like the grade forms, was a waste of time. Though at least with the grade forms they taught a valuable lesson, but it could have just been said to be diverting ki into physical strength instead of a new form. I'd rather the mastery just being able to use the true god form. No two different ones so one of them just fades into obscurity. I'd have been fine if in F Goku just went red with no time limit. Woulda been fine with me. I guess I'd pick red because it's slightly more original than the blue one.
Why Dragon Ball Consistency in something such as power levels matter!

To be honest, I didn't like Shōjo eyed Goku, Kaioken looked better.

I love the form design wise, the ritual I don't like. I makes sense it's different than Blue, it's a different way of obtaining the form, one who requires hard work. SSJG will always be remembered as the one were Goku needed the help of others.
I would like to have seen it again. But I'm fine with it, SSJB looks nice.

Not at all, and I would ask the reverse: why would you cut out the more distinct and impressionable form for blue-dyed Super Saiyan?

Re: Does anyone wish the "red" form of SSG never existed?
Super Saiyan God is probably my favourite transformation in the whole series. The name alone bares so much weight; the increasing complexity in design and widening gaps in power were such a notorious aspect of the later Super Saiyan forms, and now we have a new one? And it's a "God"? Throughout the entirety of Battle of Gods it's built up and you're left wondering what sort of new over-designed, hypermasculine appearance Goku will take on for the climax... and then he transforms, and it's the antithesis of all of those expectations. Goku's frame is now slimmer, his eyes wider and more inviting, and his hair... people like to use the terms "magenta" or "red" to describe it, and those aren't entirely inaccurate, but to me, there's no point beating around the bush: it's pink. Gone is the jagged lightning aura of the previous Super Saiyan forms, replaced with a more relaxing, wave-like effect. The entire thing is practically a point-by-point deconstruction of the previous Super Saiyan forms, and it feels intentional. I know there's a common belief that this form should have been simply called "Saiyan God" to keep things consistent with its blue successor, but to me, that would undermine what makes this form so wonderful; through its name, it invokes the other Super Saiyan transformations, and then proceeds to be the polar opposite to them. Super Saiyan God is representative of everything I love about Dragon Ball, and Toriyama's writing in general, from Freeza and Boo's final forms being their most dainty, to Vegeta reducing his much more threatening-looking underling to ash with no effort, aaaaaalllllllllll the way back to the beginning, where the strongest man in the world is some weird old dude who lives alone on an island with a turtle. That's Akira Toriyama, through-and-through; constantly subverting any and all notions of what "strong" should look like.
Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan is... the regular ol' Super Saiyan form, but blue. There's very little lead-in, no buildup of any expectations to subvert, it's just... hey! I'm blue now. And that's fine in theory, I suppose. You don't need to do anything radical with a form that's just meant to be "hey, here's Goku as a Super Saiyan, post-God transformation". I don't know if that even really needed to be a separate form at all, but whatever. Just... why on Earth is it blue? Super Saiyan God was pink! It doesn't look like the amalgam of both Super Saiyan and Super Saiyan God forms, it's more the amalgam of the Super Saiyan form and... the colour blue. Where did the blue come from? And why on Earth did they pick a shade that clashes so much with the blue on Goku's belt and boots? The most common arguments I've seen in favour of the blue are that it comes from the colour of the ki that envelopes Goku as he transforms into Super Saiyan God in Battle of Gods - which is incredibly tenuous, IMHO - or that it's meant to be symbolic of a flame's intensity, with blue being more intense than red. I guess? There's soooort of a flame motif with Super Saiyan God's aura, but... flames aren't typically kinda pink-ish, so it's still a stretch to me. I don't know. More fundamentally it's just boring character design. Super Saiyan God's changes weren't drastic by themselves, but little by little they helped contribute towards a Goku that looks completely different to all others. Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan looks like... Super Saiyan Goku, but blue. At least if he'd stayed pink, that would have been consistent, but consistency clearly wasn't the thought process. The thought process was more likely "okay, we need to sell new Goku toys, and the New! Pink Goku! Buy Now! isn't so New! anymore, so now we need to push a New! Goku colour to sell", which just serves a naked reminder that Dragon Ball will always be, first and foremost, a vehicle to sell toys. And I'm honestly fine with it being that. I just wish Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan was a less obvious by-product of the need to sell merch. I'm not naive; I know Super Saiyan God's conception also probably began with "what new Goku variant can we sell?", but at least that form did some really interesting things within those limitations to help disguise the fact.
So, uh, no. I'd much rather the "blue" form of SSG never existed. Not a fan. If we have to have a permanent alteration to the base Super Saiyan form, I'd rather it be pink. Or red. Or magenta. Whatever you wanna call it.

I 100% concur, but if I had to pick something I'd take the original SSG thing being a one time limited power up like the legend and looking halfway decent.Pocket-God wrote:I honestly wish, Super, BoG, RoF and everything related to them never existed :v
