In recent memory, fandom's collective delusion that Vegeta was going to turn Super Saiyan 3 against Beerus in Super was pretty hysterical.

It's more sad than hysterical. It was a very good chance to have Vegeta match Goku in their transformations before getting into the god transformations. The fact that they didn't do it, makes it look like the fans had a better sense of timing and power coherence than the guys making it.

- A New Dragon Ball movie is announced = Broly will be the main villain and Bardock will return.
- Champa will host a tournament = Broly/Bardock will join the tournament.
- Beerus revealed that the 5th fighter for the tournament is his stronger opponent = Its Broly/Bardock
- Champa's team have been revealed which have a dude who is a robot = Broly/Bardock is inside the robot.

The whole "Vegeta will be the star of RF" thing you mentioned in the first post has to be the best one I've seen. There were people on this very forum who were absolutely convinced that he would be the star of the movie, based on things as inconsequential as his position on the movie poster. It was hilarious.

This was the funniest hyped up speculation of all. Then we saw what happened and how some people exploded that Vegeta didn't do it nor say "I AM THE KING OF SAIYANS". Heck the aftermath was still pretty funny too with the whole arguments of "Vegeta beat Freeza." "No Freeza beat him."

I also remember that people here thought that Fox would dub Dragon Ball Evolution on their own and not use any of the Funimation voice cast. People even thought they would use the Dragon Ball Evolution voice cast .

My favorite one was Dragon Ball Hoshi/Heroes as I believed in it myself when I saw animated trailers. (Real Hoshi trailers for the game)

Hoshi has nothing on Dragon Ball AF. AF rumors got so big at a point where Funimation had to tell other fans that there is no such thing. I remember websites would sell fake AF DVD's and Funimation step in to stop it. Not to mention that this site's legendary AF April Fools joke of 2004 made so many other websites to think that it was legit.

Well to be fair AT himself had said this was a possibility in an interview a couple years prior so it really wasn't that far fetched:

"As for Vegeta, in the event that there’s talk of another animated film, then next time, I’d like him to play the main role. Of course, this is nothing more than intentions, and I haven’t decided anything at all."
