I hope not. Let's be real, it can't go forever, it was good as it is and the longer it goes the more it can damage the overall series.Mnich wrote:I was born two months before "Broly - Second Coming". So you know ... KAKAROTTOOOOOOO!!!
If we're talking about Z episodes, then I was born 5 days after episode 218. I hope Dragon Ball will be on top for another 20 years.

Imamura Takahiro was the episode director for Dragon Ball Z Episode #291. It looks like he'll be fulfilling the same role for Dragon Ball Super Episode #30, airing this week.

Well, I'm sure it won't end soon, especially with things like Heroes. There's still this "project fusion" game, etc. I wouldn't mind if they would create a spin-off with new generation of Z-Warriors. But you're probably right, it has to end one day.Kuririn Fan wrote:I hope not. Dragon Ball is a big brand name. It could go on forever if it takes a few breaks once and a while like what happen after 1997. Even big major franchises need their own rest once and a while. I think it's very possible that Dragon Ball will survive to remain relevant when it's 100 years old in 2084 and beyond.
I also don't like stuff like 80's kids, 90's kids and 2000's kids because who cares. I got to grow up in the mid-late 90's as a kid and I'm happy about it. I don't have much nostalgia for the 2000's decade since I was a teenager during most of it. Ben 10, Nintendo DS, Naruto, Xbox 360 and Pokemon Gen 3 & Gen 4 don't feel nostalgic to me the same way that MMPR, G1 Pokemon, the original Gameboy and the Sega Genesis does to me.
Power Rangers was very huge too in the mid 90's. I had a ton of MMPR stuff as a kid and you could find MMPR almost everywhere. TMNT is also a 80's franchise since it came out in 1987 and took over Transformers popularity with kids. TMNT popularity seem to die out when the first Power Rangers show came out in 1993. The third movie sucked and the show was going downhill around that time, so kids move on to the next big thing.Puaru wrote: I don't think any other kid phenomenon at any other point during the decade was as big as TMNT was between maybe 1990-1993 (except MAYBE Pokemon during the late 90's, but that's a big maybe).

I'm not talking about video games or popularity, those thing will never go away, i'm talking about the main story being milked way more that it should. The voice actors and Toriyama aren't gonna be around forever.

I hope we will get a good ending to the story like in DBOnline, with a great last battle between Goku and Vegeta. Or we can wait till someone will invent an elixir of immortality. I really can't imagine who could voice Goku after Masako Nozawa.

Good news. Personally, I'm great fan of any director that are consistent with their high-quality output. Ex: Fujise Junichi in Cell ArcJulieYBM wrote:Imamura Takahiro was the episode director for Dragon Ball Z Episode #291. Even Nishio Daisuki (DB & Z's series director) was episode director for some key episodes of Cell Arc.
DBZ Ep 291 is a favourite of mine, for its vibrant tone & beautiful animation. Lookin forward to what the director has in store for Super

And while we are at it, Dragon Ball Super's own chief animation supervisor Takeo Ide also did some of key animations for Dragon Ball Z Episode 291.
