I will start with Goku's telepathy. It seemed to develope during the fight with Vegeta for the first time. Somehow, Goku rustled up the ability to telepathically communicate with Gohan and Kuririn. It continued through to the Namek saga, at which point Goku easily read Kuririn's mind to find out everything that's happened on Namek.
Telepathy was used by Piccolo and Gohan when #20 had Piccolo in some sort of energy draining lock, remember? :P

But yeah, that's about the last time I think "Earth level people" used telepathy. Plus, it wasn't Goku: it was Piccolo, who's the son of the evil half of God. :?

Actually, I believe Piccolo also uses telepathy in the Buu arc, when he talks to Goten and Trunks, who are in the Room of Spirit and Time. I don't remember it being used after that, though.

Wow. My half assed Canon vs Cannon pic got posted again.

Anyway, on task:
DBZ MAN wrote:I thought it was Cell that used it.
I think Trunks and Cell use the Galic-ho. I'm not sure since I don't have those episodes.

Well dream no more, Grandmaster! That is Super Kaio-ken! And it was used in the filler Anoyoichi Budokai (Other-world Tournament in the dub) that takes place after the Cell saga, during the fight between Goku and Paikuhan!
Only lasted for a second, though.
MisterFlashdude wrote:How about Piccolo's ability to grow several times his own size?
He used that in the Garlic Jr arc.

DBZ MAN wrote:Wasn't really lost but Vegeta never really used his Galik Cannon attack again after the saiyan or namek saga.
He used it once or twice in GT.
I don't remember that.

Cyberman wrote:Didn't he use telepathy to read Fat Buu's mind when they were inside the evil Buu?
That was in the dub where they said "Let's read his mind and find out...". In the Japanese version, it's just a flashback sequence. Nothing is said about reading his mind. It was more likely done for the viewer.

Yet another one of Funi's odd "additions" to the script.
Meh. I always kinda got the impression they used telepathy but maybe that's because I saw the dub first.

Anyway, my vote for "lost techniques" would be the Rogafufuken*. Oh how I longed to hear Yamcha once again yell out "ROGA FU FU KEN!" and then I saw DB Movie 4** and got to see it again. But he never uses it in Z or GT. He has it in the games, though, which is cool.

*Wolf Fang Fist
** "The Path to Power" which came out after Z was finished.

Well technically it was Baby Vegeta, but it's still Vegeta's attack nontheless..

Young Goku had this technique before wherein he creates an illusion of himself. Then the opponent would try to hit the illusion thinking it's really the physical Goku. If I remember it clearly, young Goku (and probably other DB Major Characters) use this mostly during the Tenkaichi Budokai. I don't remember anybody using this technique in DBZ (there was a slight modification though.. but it's more of a fast-movement sort).

Well that's because in DBZ everyone could sense ki and nobody would ever fall for a trick like that anymore with the exception of Freeza and 17 and 18.

The After Image. And ya, being able to sense the real from the illusion over-rides the use of the skill. Though Trunks did use it against Goten in the Junior Division tournament.

The Zanzoken.

And Dabra used it against Gohan. Gohan was dumbfounded.

I believe After Image was used in the Cell Games by Goku and Cell in their fight. Unless it was just the image left by their speed, but in my videos it looks just like After Image.

I remember Goku using "Afterimage" to dodge Freeza's "Sokienzan" (Sokidan + Kienzan). Also, Dabura did use it to surprise Gohan.

I can't seem to remember any other usage of it after Volume 16, though some Anime / Movie battles may have used it and don't come to mind.

Oh, and Goku uses telepathy to Dende in the Buu saga when Bulma and the others used the Dragon Balls to wish back the people killed by Vegeta...So, that doesn't really go away.

In the dub, Goku telepathically communicates (Yells at) Trunks while he's going SSJ3. And, didn't the Crane hermit use telepathy at the 22nd tournament?

I don't think the Kamehameha was used nearly as much as it could/should have been throughout the entire series.

Just kidding. 8)

Awe, do I have to? ;)

Cell didn't ever use the Sokidan, did he? He could have tried to use it to take Gohan off guard or something like that.

Actually, When Goku showed up to stall for time, Babidi was amused and decided to psychically display the battle to everyone on Earth, hence the reason everyone knows what's going on and watch Goku go SSJ3. Trunks stopped, watching the battle in his mind, shocked that anyone could be stronger than his dad-- so Goku got frustrated after feeling that his chi had stopped moving and knew that everyone was watching, so he just shouted for Trunks hurry up and get the radar, leaving Babidi asking who he was yelling at.

But didn't you have to have your eyes closed to "connect?" I don't think Trunks did that.

Piccolos special beam cannon was only used on Raditz and Tullece. What a waste of a cool move.
