He's said to travel 17 years into the past and he ends up in Supers era, which should be AGE 780 (though who really knows). So unless he fell asleep at the wheel and knocked himself off course or something, that means he should be coming from AGE 797, which is 9 years after he defeated Cell for his own timeline in AGE 788.

They'll probably use it as an opportunity to have Trunks say a throwaway line basically mocking Gohan's loss of strength or how he's pathetic compared to his future counterpart.

Either that or something similarly demeaning like him being effortlessly KO'd in a scuffle. Toei are very predictable when it comes to Gohan's handling in Super, which is always bad.

Actually those "Gohan mocking" you're talking about were a lot more prevalent in Toyotarou's manga than in the anime. Goku's disappointment with him, for instance, was completely absent in the anime. That's not on Toei at all.
If anything, it feels like Toei is pushing to give Gohan a spotlight that Toriyama doesn't.

I'd reckon that Trunks would relieved that Gohan is living a normal and peaceful life and I don't think Future Trunks would want to be a downer and tell Gohan that in his timeline he ends up losing arm fighting the androids and then end up being brutally murdered by them.

You're trying too hard. Super Saiyan Gohan is about as strong as Ultimate Gohan and that was over eight months ago regardless. Even Gohan's base is stronger than Piccolo who is around Semi-Perfect to Perfect Cell's level.

Honestly, this Gohan bitterness tend is getting old.

The issue with them interacting is that Gohan in our timeline does not give a F about Kid Trunks beyond his natural kindness and desire to protect when possible.


The one thing I could see Trunks doing is inspiring Gohan to reach for new heights by explaining who he was and how powerful he was in their timeline. How close they were and so on.

And here I'm thinking about how they can do to break the Z Sword in the future in order to give Trunks the "Unlocked Potential" state and you come up with this idea. The contrast is real.
