Woo! Can't wait for this to come out! Can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait, can't wait!
*end late-night insanity*
Please ... somebody ... for the love of One Piece's respect, get this guy to a properly translated fansub. I know, links are forbidden, but I just cannot stand any type of references to what that shit brain of an adaptation that 4-Kids started. Hell, I can't even call what they made "One Piece". Even if this was a reference to the Viz manga, Zoro just shouldn't be spelled in that ridiculous Zolo change. Sorry, I know this is an all-out DragonBall forum, but I had to get that out of the way.SSj Kaboom wrote:Did I just see Sanji kicking Goku? Luffy getting Lotus'd by Rock Lee? Whoopsie, my bad. Sadly, I'm afraid I'm still trying to ween myself off of 4Kids' crap-tastic dub, and I tend to slip with the names sometimes...Conan the SSJ wrote:Please ... somebody ... for the love of One Piece's respect, get this guy to a properly translated fansub. Easiest for me to do this:Magica wrote:What exactly is D.O.N., and what system will this be for?
The actual title appears to be Battle Stadium D.O.N. now, but yeah!Daizenshuu EX, on April 14th wrote:D.O.N BattleStadium for PS2/Gamecube
VegettoEX @ 7:15 am EDT -- GoNintendo.com is hosting several images from the upcoming PS2 & Gamecube (JP-only, at this point) game titled D.O.N. BattleStadium. No, it's not a DBZ games...
It's a DBZ / One Piece / Naruto game...!
Slated for release this July 20th! If this doesn't get you excited, nothing will. (Oh man, and that's just a month after Super DragonBall Z comes out on the JP PS2...!) Let the comparisons with Jump Super Stars begin.
It won't. Get the import and a boot discMagica wrote:Glad to see that it might have a Gamecube release if it ever comes to the states.

Jump Superstars also had other anime series not yet released in america yet.Tsukento wrote:If Jump Superstars wasn't released here, why would ya think D.O.N. would be released here?
The three series' are all owned by a whole buncha different companies in terms of anime, manga and video games licenses.
I'm sorry but aren't Zoro and Zolo essentially the same thing what with r's and l's basically being interchangable?Conan the SSJ wrote:Please ... somebody ... for the love of One Piece's respect, get this guy to a properly translated fansub. Anyway, scans look great. If this game comes to the US, I no doubt will pick up. However, I WILL have fears with a certain company's possible looming influence with the One Piece characters. In terms of playing the game, I can't wait either!
Not in this case, his name isn't supposed to be an R-L/L-R conversion. More than likely, it's just a 4-Kids cop-out to avoid any law suit threats due to the whole "Zorro" issue. Also, I've heard the manga author made his feelings clear to Toei that Zoro's name was supposed to be "Zoro", and wasn't intended to be changed for the R-L system in different dubs. I'd elaborate further, but this isn't the message board for this type of discussion. The Lecherous Muten Roshi wrote:I'm sorry but aren't Zoro and Zolo essentially the same thing what with r's and l's basically being interchangable?
I'm just saying.
All the same, nobody spells Piccolo as Piccoro. Unless of course you go with the most literal romanization and write Pikkoro. I could be wrong on the spelling of that since I'm by no means an expert on the matter.
I don't see people complaining about Marth being able to defeat Samus in SSBM. It's what happens in fighting games starring already established characters.Steven Perry wrote:EDIT: Oh yeah, and I'm sure some skinny dude in a suit can kick Goku like that. I'm sticking with the DBZ characters when I play.
Jump Superstars had characters from games that weren't released in the US yet. This game, however, does not. All three series have seen US releases. The only issue is ownership of the series (Viz, FUNi, and 4kds) being differnt. IIRC, the game licences are all owned by the same people (Bandai/Atari) so it's just the anime/manga liscenses that are a problem. It would be nice though if something could be worked out to port this... :/Tsukento wrote:If Jump Superstars wasn't released here, why would ya think D.O.N. would be released here?

Then you have to deal with the game being Japanese only which is, to me, a far larger problem. Mainly due to the fact I don't *know* Japanese. Can't read it, can't speak it, can't understand it.As for the import issue, all it takes is a Gamecube with a Freeloader disc, and you'll be playing any game you want, without having to worry about this game being dub-only,
