The green Rings of Time... A plot hole/Mistake

I don't believe Trunks moving back and forth between his timeline and ours generates a new timeline/ring (not counting the initial one, of course). If this were the case, then Gowasu would have told Trunks that one of the green rings was created a few days ago.

Maybe the rings only appear if the timeline created actually split from their branch?

So, Trunks' and Cell's timelines would be there since you get Trunks and Cell going to the past and changing it, thus creating the rings, but the other timelines wouldn't have rings there, since they had no contact with the timeline we follow.

One thing everyone seems to have missed is that when Gowasu said that a time ring appeared recently, it was clearly because of the Revival of F incident where Whis turned back time. At the end of the Black Saga he even said him doing so would create another time ring meaning that it did when he did so during RoF. So 4 was when Whis turned back time and the rest are exactly right.

Whis' ability doesn't split timelines. Or else it would also have split when he fixed Beerus' planet Sun, and also who knows how many times he and the other angels used this ability.

What I think happened is that Trunks (and Cell too) didn't create new timelines, except for one time. Instead, the two simply travelled back in time to alternate timelines which were already splitted by someone else.

Six rings, five splits.

Confirmed splits:

- Happened in U12 long ago.
- When Trunks travelled back the first time and killed Freezer and Cold.
- When Beerus killed Zamasu.

Probable but unconfirmed splits:

- When Cell woke up from his hibernation and started chasing the androids.
- When Trunks returned to his timeline stronger and killed Cell instead of the other way around.

If this splits didn't happen, then they would be for other time travels and events unrelated to the DB history we know.

Well, this is my headcanon timelines and the travels that ocurred, this is the only way i can think with the current mechanics of time travel, since you have to wait in the future the same amount of time that pass in the present and vice-versa.
