I dont really like a central character as that usually means others vet left behind. The universal survival tournament seems like it will let everyone contribute in a good way to the team winning. This would be great for many fans and they won't feel like all these characters are just background filler.sintzu wrote:DB focused on Goku's development by having him collect the DB's and trying to win the Tenkaichi torunament.
Z focused on Gohan going from a cry baby to taking over from his father as earth's protector, Piccolo and Vegeta went from villains who wanted nothing more than earth's destruction to giving up their lives to protect it & Trunks trying to save his future from the androids.
Super doesn't have much development, it's mostly characters who are completely developed just fighting random villains, it doesn't have a cerntral character who's developing throughout the arcs who makes them feel more connected like the original did so that's the main thing I'd change about Super.

I also want everyone to get screen time but I'd also like there to be someone who's developing with the plot like the examples I mentioned.namekiansaiyan wrote:I dont really like a central character as that usually means others vet left behind. They are all fully developed though, so we are just at the stage where we just like them doing random stuff and having fights.sintzu wrote:I also want everyone to get screen time but I'd also like there to be someone who's developing with the plot like the examples I mentioned.namekiansaiyan wrote:I dont really like a central character as that usually means others vet left behind. That doesn't make for a fun nor compelling story. Also just like real people, characters should ALWAYS be developing as people.namekiansaiyan wrote:They are all fully developed though, so we are just at the stage where we just like them doing random stuff and having fights.sintzu wrote:I also want everyone to get screen time but I'd also like there to be someone who's developing with the plot like the examples I mentioned.namekiansaiyan wrote:I dont really like a central character as that usually means others vet left behind. Battle of Gods saga
- Vegeta doesn't get a rage boost, but he is granted another potential unlock, this time by Whis, who tries to save the Earth for them, when Beerus needed to fight a SSJ God.
- He's now on Ultimate Gohan's level at base, but still capable of transforming, when he decides to waste most of his power with an all out attack as an ascended Super Saiyan.
- Goku shows up for the ritual and becomes a SSJ God, takes on Beerus for limited time, until he gets stronger with SSJ and loses the previous form. His base is equal to Vegeta's.
- Beerus is impressed by Goku and Vegeta's performance, and decides that he must leave the Earth and prepare them for the upcoming tournament, but not before Freeza's revival.
Resurrection of F saga
- Trunks and Goten have been training and are strong enough as base Gotenks, who is about equal to Ultimate Gohan. They fight Freeza in their SSJ3 form, but waste their time.
- Gohan is forced to step in, and he taps into his Ultimate form until he reaches SSJ, but when trying to attack with the last Kamehameha, he gets angry and lets Goku target them.
- SSJ Blue is SSJ when past the threshold to become a God, and it branches in a sequence that led to SSJ2. They control their energy to unreadable levels, instead of just powering up.
- Piccolo and Majin Boo are stronger than before, and about equal to SSJ3 Goku before the ritual, when the Humans have reached Goten and Trunks' level before fusing or transforming.
Heh, I'm kinda disappointed that this has much more to do with power, when I may be introducing a scenario that is worse than before. I just want the Super Saiyans to look as strong as they look, with SSJ3 Gotenks being the most powerful character with a major hindrance, while Goku and Vegeta fight endlessly with SSJ Blue as an alternative to Super Saiyan 2. It wouldn't have a restless feeling and, in the future, Goku might just be able to match his own SSJ3 transformation by adding Kaioken on top. Ultimate is now Gohan's new base, while he can drop it to Goten, Trunks and the Humans' level, but not before transforming into Super Saiyan. Piccolo and Majin Boo have increased their power to separate the strongest Saiyans from the kids, but not base Gotenks, by placing themselves in SSJ3 Goku's tier before the ritual.

Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
They could've develop Goten and Trunks, they already played a main role in the Buu arc so we could've seen Trunks develop into someone similar to his future self and Goten to maybe someone like Gohan if he liked training.TekTheNinja wrote:That doesn't make for a fun nor compelling story. Another thing they could've done is have RF and the stories afterward set after EOZ where we can see Pan and Uub develop alongside them.

Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
I would first not make Goku and Beerus so powerful, so quick.
Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
I'd keep Beerus' power but not SsB, I'd have SsjG be the only way to get that strong and have it saved for emergencies only so Goku and Vegeta would have to rely on their normal power to fight and they won't be so ahead of everyone.SaiyanGod117 wrote:I would first not make Goku and Beerus so powerful, so quick.
I'd have Gogeta be the one who fights Freeza, Goku would fight hit in Ssj3 instead of Blue and Vegeta would turn down SsjG in favor of Trunks using it to save his future.

Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
I think Beerus is too powerful, and I would get rid of SSG, but not as quickly. Your way is could good too, Whis would keep training them until they find a way to use God Ki without aid, while also expanding their arensal and learning new things.sintzu wrote:I'd keep Beerus' power but not SsB, I'd have SsjG be the only way to get that strong and have it saved for emergencies only so Goku and Vegeta would have to rely on their normal power to fight and they won't be so ahead of everyone.SaiyanGod117 wrote:I would first not make Goku and Beerus so powerful, so quick.

Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
I'd fix the production value in the first two arcs and have it take place after the Manga.
Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
Pan, goten, or trunks should be the ones developing god damn it. Soon we might have oob too so they better utilize himsintzu wrote:I also want everyone to get screen time but I'd also like there to be someone who's developing with the plot like the examples I mentioned.namekiansaiyan wrote:I dont really like a central character as that usually means others vet left behind. I made a bet with Alee9977 that Vegeta won't be beaten quickly by an opponent. If I lose, I switch my avatar to Vegeta getting beat by hit. If I win, he switches it to Vegeta holding Black by his hair. This will last a month.

I'm not going to get my hopes up until I see how they handle the non Goku and Vegeta characters in the tournament.kinisking wrote:Pan, goten, or trunks should be the ones developing god damn it. Soon we might have oob too so they better utilize him

Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
The simple reason is because they will not be as good as the original characters.kinisking wrote:Pan, goten, or trunks should be the ones developing god damn it. Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
If Toriyama had that mindset from the start then we'd still just have Goku and Bulma.namekiansaiyan wrote:The simple reason is because they will not be as good as the original characters.
Krillin, Tien, Piccolo, Gohan, Vegeta & F Trunks are all great characters cause they had the chance to develop with the story so I think new characters should have that chance as well.

Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
The difference back then was that there was not as many characters so the characters you listed stayed and developed. There are now so many established characters that essentially there is no room.sintzu wrote:If Toriyama had that mindset from the start then we'd still just have Goku and Bulma.namekiansaiyan wrote:The simple reason is because they will not be as good as the original characters.

This is a good point but I think they should introduce someone new sooner or later.namekiansaiyan wrote:The difference back then was that there was not as many characters so the characters you listed stayed and developed. Re: How would you rewrite Dragon Ball Super?
Their need uniqueness and something new or they will be regarded as just copies. Goten and Trunks should just stick to fusion and the other 2 are too young. Who would actually want to See Pan and Uub steal valuable screen time from people in the universal tournament.kinisking wrote:You never know. Most of the complaining is about certain people not participating in the tournament. Unless there is a time skip I doubt anything will change regarding who is relevant in Dragon Ball Super.kinisking wrote:Oh, I'm not talking about the universe tournament.
