It's really too slow to be used in actual combat.
What's more? Once it's used, then it probably won't work on the next opponent since he'd be aware of the attack.
Not to mention that there may be some actual cautious fighters (unlike Goku) who won't take any chances and will decimate their opponent if they see an opening.

Mafuuba is a valid option though, so I guess Kame-sennin would actually use it once more in this tournament :)
