Which form should Gohan use now?

His Ultimate look is unique, so I'd say that. I'd rather no one else get Blue though since I dislike it as a whole.

I always thought that his ultimate form should have the SS aura with the base looking body to represent a more inner transformation. I'm cool with how they did it though.

Never saw that before. The idea of the colored aura actually crossed my mind right after I first saw his new form all those years ago. Honestly I've always thought the each of the saiyans should have something about their transformation that is unique to that person. It doesn't have to be major. Just something subtle.

The form that Gohan should use is the form that he has to fill in for a new scholaring job that leads to him having to drop out of the tournament so he can go to the interview.

Originally, I would have preferred him to still have and use his "ultimate" power, because it had been a "godly gift".

So since the manga never really made anything out of it, it would have been cool to see if there was still room for improvement in this form or whatever.
If anything, this form was stronger than Fat Buu, so it would definitely be top tier in the universe (mortal-wise).
Seeing it decay and vanish just like that was a bit sad.

That said, after DB Super handled the "ultimate" form as being weaker than anyone else vs. Beerus and now that it *has* apparently vanished for good (Res. F and following), I think they will stick to SSJ.
Because all he can do at the moment is to go SSJ for a short while with a lot of effort, so I think that is what he will do from now on.

Concerning the tournament, compared to virtually everyone else (especially Master Roshi), he is still very strong.
So I personally do not believe that Gohan is going to get any power up in the next arc. The reason is that they will stick to him being a scholar story-wise.
So the tournament can give us get some fighting appearances by Gohan, but that's about it.
I think of it more like a guest experience. There is just no need to "vastly" improve him and bring him back up to Super Buu / SSJ3 / God tier.

(Out of universe I believe it could also depend on Masako Nozawa, because it is a lot of stress to voice both Goku and Gohan full time.
On the other hand though, new Gohan forms or even just fighting attires would definitely be merchandise, so...)

He will probably become Super Saiyan Blue if only because Toei has run out of Saiyans to promote Super Saiyan Blue with for toys and videogames and Gohan would be the next most logical choice to get it.
