What about bringing back Cell for the tournament?

To be clear, I'm not saying that it would make any sense for Cell to be written into Super for an arc. But, does it really have to make sense at this point... ? We're 85 episodes in... logic has long had its chance.

Super has often times been something straight out of fan-fiction anyway, imo. Look at how self-aware it is in its presentation and content that it's a globally recognized franchise - it goes to deliberately provoke reactions because of the trendy, reaction-ary times we're living in. All that I'm saying is that Cell coming back - whether it makes sense or not - would be the least off-putting thing that the show has done. And more toys could be sold... of course.

But Cell would have his own selfish desires and try to wipe out everyone. Plus there are stronger fighters than him, so unless he's coming back with a vengeance and some cool backstory it's pointless.

My initial post attempted to cover why I think Cell returning wouldn't be a bad thing for Super. Our last memory of Cell is that he tried wiping out the Earth after he'd freaked out over Gohans' power. He arrived and was vanquished within a matter of days in-Universe time - there was no time for him to be anything but the villain. With the introduction of various deities/hierarchies since that time, Cells' existence would be put into perspective. He's potentially the most dynamic antagonist in the franchise and is not one-dimensional. I would be greatly intrigued to see Cell written into this much more expansive world, because the writer's could take him in any direction. He could be an occasional recurring character without his presence being intrusive on other characters such as Gohan or Piccolo.

And I need to see an improved version of "Super Perfect" Cell sparring with Hit.

Cell wasn't even truly bad.. the guy was just trying to be complete and sure he went a little over board but who wouldnt..

Deep down cell is probably a solid dude.

It didn't ever seem like he had the "drive" to train. Why bring him back? We do remember the 10 days before the Cell Games, he made it seem like it was the most boring 10 days.
