FUNimation in-house cast:
Dabura (Rick Robertson): Looking through the thread, this choice appears to be unanimous.
Dr. Gero/#20 (Kent Williams)
Mr. Satan (Chris Rager)
Freeza (Chris Ayres)
My favorite... ?
ZTV Announcer for the Cell Games in original Z (James. T. Field): I had no idea that his name was Jimmy Firecracker until I just looked it up.
Was a bit disappointed in how bland the replacement voice in Kai turned out to be in comparison. :/
I haven't heard enough of Beerus (Jason Douglas) to really know for sure, but it sounds mostly good from the little bits that I remember.

I didn't mind Imperfect Cell's voice. It did had a creepy feeling to it.

I don't think Douglas' voice is that good for Beerus. Comparing to Yamadera, he has less range and sounds more deep that the expected for the character.Baggie_Saiyan wrote:It'll probably be easier to list the voices I don't like!
Anyway top 5:
Ayres as Freeza. His performance in Resurrection "F" was phenomenal. Utterly terrifying whilst simultaneously humorous! Love it.
Schemmel as Goku. Boy what an improvement SS and SS3 transformations show he is able to control his screams now and isn't screaming just like that, serious his SS3 in Kai blows away Z. He's able to go as high as Nozawa heck even higher now when needed, case in point his whaaaaaaaa in DBS #18. Oh and that phenomenal monologue in DBS #11.
He is the definitive English counter part to Nozawa now no question.
Rages as Satan. Boyyyyyy what a casting absolutely hilarious!Nothing needed to be said more.
Ian Sinclair and Douglas as Whis and Beerus. Utterly brilliant casting, Super is really bringing the best out of them!
Sabat as Vegeta and Pics- Great improvement , neither voices sound forced now thus when Vegeta is bantering it sounds so much better.
Same goes for Ian Sinclair. I think he was casted for Whis just because he was a proeminent voice in Voice Acting when Battle of Gods was dubbing, making a lot of big roles, like Toriko, Brook, Dandy, and so they tried him for Whis too.

My favorite performances are Chris Ayres' Freeza, Chris Rager's Mr. Satan, Ian Sinclair's Whis, and Scott McNeil's Piccolo. But, I have a major respect towards Sean Schemmel, Chris Sabat and Sonny Strait for improving as much as they did.

Working my way through The Final Chapters, and I forgot until now how great Kent Williams usually is as Elder Kai. Not to mention Dr. Gero/Android 20 from before that (I'd throw in the younger Kaioshin as well, but he doesn't really get much to do in the grand scheme of things). The guy's turned in consistently good work even since the old days of the dub, so it's sort of a shame he doesn't get the same accolades a lot of other voice actors do - though I'm guilty of forgetting how good he is too.

I absolutely love him as Gero, Supreme Kai and Tao, even in the original dub. I sometimes forget he's Elder Kai too. He's really talented.8000 Saiyan wrote:I think he's probably one of Funimation's top voice actors.Gyt Kaliba wrote:Working my way through The Final Chapters, and I forgot until now how great Kent Williams usually is as Elder Kai. He sure was one of the standouts in that dub.Dbzfan94 wrote:I absolutely love him as Gero, Supreme Kai and Tao, even in the original dub. I sometimes forget he's Elder Kai too. Re: Your favorite Funimation voices(Japanese fans jump in too!)
I can't really speak for characters like Dr. Gero or Dabura because they played a very small role in the series. I feel like I can appreciate their voices, but they can't be my favorites. If I had to choose...
I like Kyle Herbert as Gohan. He sounded pretty good.
I liked Eric Vale's first run as Trunks before Xenoverse came out. Man... oh man, it became unbearable then.
I think Kara Edwards did a pretty good job as Goten.
Other than that, the voices are passable for me. I don't mind them, but I can't say that there's anything super spectacular about them. I always did appreciate Sonny Strait's Burdock, but he falls into that category of minor characters.
