Who do you think is the worst character in Dragon Ball?

Not the worse, but I hate how Ox-King is presented in the first 13 episodes of the anime. Like they hype him up for now reason, and it makes no sense.

I'll always have a special pit in my heart for Gotenks. Despite all the buildup he got as the saviour, but only served to drag out the Buu arc with unfunny jokes, get a bunch of characters killed (including Bulma- her only death and it was caused by her stupid son!) and ruin Gohan's hero moment.

In some ways, I have to say Gohan in Buu Arc cause he really is all over the place. Gohan before this arc seemed to enjoy training and getting stronger at a certain point, and it wasn't merely just for the protection of others. He kinda neglected his studies and would choose training over doing that, or going to Namek against his mothers wishes. That said, he is not Goku 2.0 so he doesn't dedicate himself entirely to it, but he never seemed like the character to just stop and become weaker.

They start out Gohan going to high school, as he has adapted to a more comforting and typical life being that there are no threats. Eventually he takes on the moniker of a super hero, The Great Saiyaman, which I feel is kind of outta nowhere being that we've never seen his love for super heroes before and he acts really goofy with it. People change, but it would've been nice if these were things hinted at throughout Z even if just a few times. Like it just ends up feeling like another character entirely instead of a progression like Goku had when he got older. Still the same person mostly, just more mature.

Later on to protect earth he gets another unlock to his power and it seems like they are trying to turn Gohan into his self pre Buu saga, but at this point it's like what's the point of making a character change one way, then back to what he was before? The direction with him really feels all over the place, and when he finally gets his debut under his more fighter orientated self, he is absolutely beat down the following chapter and pretty much forgotten and killed when Buu destroys the planet later.

Really not a fan of how he was written here.

Couldn't really say. I think basically all characters have their place.

Although, sure, there have been a few who are kind of underwhelming or half-baked.

But in a twenty-plus-year series, maybe that can't be avoided.

Being that must have a role to fulfill, though, and it's very rare there's a majorly highlighted character who's genuinely dull to read, I think Dragon Ball tends to be pretty good about keeping its cast interesting.

All, or almost all, of the major and bit characters have at least one scene that's fun. At least very few of them are boring.

What's wrong with Pan?

There's nothing wrong with canon Pan. GT Pan is a horrific character though who can do absolutely nothing but shout and moan at other characters.

Goku - "I'm hungry"

Pan - "You're always hungry Grandpa! Don't you ever think of anything but food!"

That's basically the entire character. They say something and she bitches.

I think younger characters similar to Pan tend to get the most hatred. Young female characters the most, it seems, though not always.

I think Vados is one of the best DB characters, Tsunade one of the best Naruto characters & Genkai one of the best YuYu Hakusho characters (to name a few) so what does that make me ?

Just because someone doesn't like a woman character doesn't mean they don't like all of them. I don't like these new DB ones simply because they're badly written IMO.

I can't really think of a Dragon Ball character that I would consider the "worst character in Dragon Ball". Most of the character I'm not too keen on are so minor and inconsequential that they don't detract from the story in the slightest for me to label them as the worst character in Dragon Ball.

Anime adaptation (JPN):

I tend not to think about worst anything in DB, because I'm more about enjoying and appreciating the overall amazing work that has been created. But, I'll play along and throw anything to do with Fusion out there. I have very low tolerance for that stuff.

So, Gotenks it is. I find the "Vegetto" Fusion less painful, and even a little bit entertaining in places. Or, what Kataphrut said.

Worst individual character goes to Freeza-fight Vegeta (all forms) up until the very end of that arc (except the last episode). So unlikable. Most of that is probably TOEI filler. He goes from being a coward half of the time, then dying, then comes back to life shortly after only to laugh hysterically several times about the idea of Goku and Freeza both out of the way. It's so bad, especially when compared to his pre-Freeza fight characterization. And I'm not even including that nonsense where he beats up Gohan toward the end either. Outside of that low-lowpoint, Vegeta has been generally one of the best characters in DB, imo... for good or bad. :p
